Samsung to disclose cause of Galaxy Note7 fires on January 23

After several months of investigations, Samsung will finally reveal what caused the Galaxy Note7 to catch fire. The South Korean tech giant has announced that, the company's executives will announce the cause of Galaxy Note7 incidents during a press conference in Seoul, South Korea, on January 23, 2017. The press conference will be live streamed as well.

In the press conference, Samsung Electronics, as well as independent experts  who conducted their own investigations into various aspects of the Galaxy Note7 will disclose their findings. The company will also discuss new measure it has implemented to prevent repeat incidents.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note7 in August 2016, and what could have been the top flagship of 2016, was plagued by fire issues. Due to multiple incidents of catching fire, the company in September 2016 suspended global sales and announced world-wide recall (2.5 million units) and replacement program. And in October 2016, Samsung put an end to the misery by ceasing all production of Galaxy Note 7 and discontinuing it.

Earlier this week, Reuters reported that Samsung’s probe had found the battery was the main cause of Note 7 fires.
