Sony this year seems to a have a soft spot for music. At CES 2015 it resurrected the iconic Walkman by unveiling the Walkman NW-ZX2. Now possible Render images hint that Sony is bringing its walkman brand to its smartphone with Xperia Z4 Music. Reports say that the image made a brief appearance on Sony's official website, but later it was removed.

The leaked image shows off Xperia Z4 Music smartphone bearing the 'W' branding, its inbuilt music player, a tagline 'Feel the Air' and full spec sheet.

The Sony Xperia Z4 Music is a Hi-Res Walkman Portable Music smartphone in mini size. It sprorts a S-Force PRO Front Surround Speaker with S-master with six audio modes - Clear Audio+, DSEE GX, 5-band EQ, VPT, Dynamic Normalizer and DPC.  It supports Hi-Res audio playback of DSD, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, FLAC and more.

The device comes with decent performance. It features 4.0-inch TRILUMINOS IPS Display and is powered by 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, paired with 3GB RAM. It comes in two storage variants - 32GB and 128GB. Other features include an 8-megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS CMOS sensor and 2000mAh battery (upto 2 days of battery life). The device measures 109 x 49.4 x 8.9 mm. The 32GB variant weighs 133.5 grams and comes in Black colour while the 128GB variant weighs 138.5 grams and will be available in Brushed Silver, Purple, Tyrant Gold and Hatsune Green. There is no mention of which Android OS it will run.


There is no official word on its launch but we expect Xperia Z 'Music' to debut in MWC 2015 Barcelona.
