Coolpad Note 5 Lite new variant with 32GB storage launched in India


Coolpad launched the budget Note 5 Lite in India for Rs. 8,199 back in March this year featuring 16GB internal storage. Now the brand has launched a new variant with double storage.

The new Coolpad Note 5 Lite comes with 32GB internal storage, and is priced same as the 16GB model at Rs. 8,199. It will be available exclusively from Amazon India in Gold, Royal Gold and Grey colors.

Apart from more storage, there's no change in the specs sheet. The 32GB Coolpad  Note 5 Lite comes with 5-inch HD IPS display, 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735CP processor, 3GB RAM and 2500mAh battery. 

It ships with 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and 8MP front facing camera also assisted by an LED flash to let you capture better selfies under low light conditions.

The phone still runs the dated Android Marshmallow and supports microSD card, dual-SIM and 4G VoLTE. It also has rear-mounted fingerprint scanner,  which apart from unlocking the phone can also be used to make or receive calls, record calls, open apps and capture images. For this you have to pre-set any one of the option.

Sheen Black Coolpad Cool Play 6 now available in India for Rs. 14,999


Coolpad's gaming centric Cool Play 6 released in India in September in two colors: Gentle Gold and Sheen Black, but only the former went on sale. Now the Sheen Black color version is finally up for grabs at the same price as the Gold version at Rs. 14,999, online exclusively on Amazon India.

To recap the specs, the metal-clad Coolpad Cool Play 6 sports 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor paired with Adreno 510 GPU and 6GB RAM, along with 64GB on-board storage. Unfortunately, here's no slot for microSD card for storage expansion.



For photography, it gets 13MP dual-cameras with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and dual-tone LED flash, while a 8MP f/2.2 selfie shooter sits in the front.  It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Journey UI and is fueled by 4060mAh battery, that's  rated to deliver up to 252 hours of standby time, up to nine hours of web browsing, up to eight hours of video playback, and up to six hours of extreme gaming.

In terms of connectivity, it offers dual-SIM slots, 4G, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port. Coolpad outs Cool Play 6C with dual-selfie camera in China


Coolpad is expanding its Cool Play line up with a new budget model dubbed Cool Play 6C featuring dual-cameras at the front. It appears to be a toned version of the previously launched gaming centric Cool Pay 6 which had 6GB RAM.

The Cool Play 6C have been announced in China, and features 5-inch HD IPS display with a layer of 2.5D curved glass on top. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. 

The performance is handled by octa-core Snapdragon 425 chip clocked at 1.25GHz, while it sips juice from a 2600mAh battery to keep the lights on. For photography, it has 13MP PDAF camera at the back assisted by an LED flash, and front facing 8MP+5MP dual-cameras for selfies.

It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and supports dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It also has fingerprint sensor, that's hidden inside the home button.

The Coolpad Cool Play 6C carries a price tag of CNY 849 ($128 | Rs. 8,300), and will be available for purchase in home market China on November 25.

Coolpad Cool Play 6 lands in India for Rs. 14,999


Coolpad has finally launched the Cool Play 6 in India, designed for gamers. It brings some of the flagship-grade specs at a budget like dual-cameras, 6GB RAM and bigger battery. The phone has been aggressively priced at Rs. 14,999 and will be exclusively available on Amazon India starting September 4 in Black and Gold colors.

The metal-clad Coolpad Cool Play 6 sports 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor paired with Adreno 510 GPU and 6GB RAM, along with 64GB on-board storage. There's no slot for microSD card for storage expansion.

Coolpad intros Cool M7 in China


Coolpad is launching a new budget smartphone in home market of China called Cool M7. It runs Android 7.1 based new JourneyUI on top, and has the fingerprint sensor at the front, embedded into the iPhone-like home button.

The Coolpad Cool M7 comes with 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass on top, and is armed with Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is no option for storage expansion.

For photography, it offers 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor at the rear with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF and dual-tone LED, while the front shooter is a 13MP f/2.2 sensor with 79.8-degree field of view. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port. It is fueled by a 3200mAh batter. All this is packed into a metal unibody that measures just 6.9mm.

The Coolpad Cool M7 has been priced at CNY 2699 ($404 | Rs. 26,000), and will go on sale in China from August 26 in Matte Black and Blue colors.

Coolpad Cool Play 6 with 6GB RAM, dual-cameras coming to India on August 20


Coolpad is bringing its most powerful smartphone to India. The company took to twitter to announce that it will launch the Cool Play 6 in the country on August 20.

The Cool Play 6 was initially introduced in China back in May this year, and is designed for gaming.

In China it is priced at just CNY 1499, which translates to Rs. 14,500, and boasts specs like 6GB RAM, 13MP dual-camera with Sony sensors and a beefy 4060mAh battery, making it the most affordable smartphone to come with such specs. However, we'll have to wait till next week to know whether the India pricing will be around the Rs. 14,500 figure or higher.


Other specs include 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 653 processor, 64GB internal storage, 8MP selfie camera, USB Type-C port, dual-speakers and fingerprint scanner.

It runs Android Nougat out of the box, and is fitted with a temperature control technology, which ensures that the smartphone doesn't heat up during intense game sessions. The battery inside is rated to deliver up to six hours of extreme gaming.

Coolpad goes offline in India with Note 5 Lite C


After Xiaomi and Motorola, Coolpad is the latest smartphone vendor to foray into the offline market to strengthen its presence in India. The China based device maker has launched Note 5 Lite C, a budget smartphone targeted at the offline market. It runs Android Nougat based Cool UI 8.0, and has a fingerprint scanner at the back.

In terms of specifications, the Note 5 Lite C features 5-inch HD display and is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor backed by Adreno 304 GPU and 2GB RAM. It comes with 16GB on-board storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

For photography, it gets 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front camera. Connectivity duties will be handled by dual-SIMs, 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It will sip juice from a 2500mAh battery. Color options include Grey and Gold.

The Coolpad Note 5 Lite C has been priced at Rs. 7,777, and will hit the market starting August 5. It will be available across 3,000 multi-brand stores in eight states including Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Cool Summer Sale: Coolpad Cool 1, CoolPad Note 5 & Note 5 Lite available at reduced price


Coolpad is offering discounts of up to Rs. 3,000 as part of its "Cool Summer Sale" on Amazon India. The devices available at discounted price include Cool 1, Coolpad Note 5 and Cool Note 5 Lite, which according to Coolpad are their best selling smartphones in the country. There's no word when the sale ends.

Starting with the dual-camera toting Cool 1, the 3GB RAM version gets a price cut of Rs. 1,000 and is now available for Rs. 9,999, while the 4GB RAM version has received Rs. 3,000 price cut, and can now be purchased at Rs. 11,999.

The Coolpad Note 5 has received Rs. 1,000 discount, and is now available at Rs. 9,999, and the Note 5 Lite is now available for Rs. 7,499 after a discount of Rs. 1,500.

To recap the specs, the Cool 1 features 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 652 processor, 32GB storage, 13MP dual rear cameras, 8MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C and 4060mAh battery. It ships with Android Marshmallow.

The Coolpad Note 5 specs include 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 617 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage, 13MP/8MP cameras, selfie flash, 4G VoLTE, Android Marshmallow based Cool UI 8.0 and 4010mAh battery.

The Coolpad Note 5 Lite is a tone down version of Coolpad Note 5 and has 5-inch HD display, MediaTek MT6735P processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 13MP/8MP cameras, 4G LTE, Android Marshmallow and 2500mAh battery.

Coolpad Cool Play 6 with dual-cameras, 6GB RAM, 4060mAh battery announced


Coolpad has introduced a new budget smartphone in its home market of China called Cool Play 6, designed for gaming. Even though, it's a budget phone, it comes with a massive 6GB RAM, dual-cameras and a beefy 4060mAh battery.

The Coolpad Cool Play 6 features 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 653 processor, 64GB expandable storage and runs Android Nougat. It has dual 13MP cameras with Sony sensors for monochrome and depth of field functions, and 8MP front facing camera. There's a fingerprint scanner located at the back.



It sports metal unibody design, and has a built-in intelligent temperature control technology, which ensures that the smartphone doesn't heat up during intense game sessions. The 4060mAh battery on-board is rated to deliver up to 252 hours of stanby time, up to nine hours of web browsing, up to eight hours of video playback, and up to six hours of extreme gaming.

New Coolpad Cool 1 variant with 3GB RAM launched at Rs. 10,999


Coolpad is launching a new version of Cool 1 in India with less RAM and cheaper price tag. The new Cool 1 comes with 3GB RAM instead of 4GB RAM and is priced at Rs. 10,999. It will be available starting April 11 exclusively on Amazon India.

To recall, the 4GB RAM version was launched in India back in December at Rs. 12,999, but recently received Rs. 1,000 price cut, and is now available for Rs. 11,999.

Apart from the RAM change, the rest of the specifications remain unchanged. The phone comes with dual-camera and beefy battery capacity.

The Cool 1 features 5.5-inch Full HD display, octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor, 32GB storage, dual 13MP rear cameras (monochrome + RGB lens) w/ 4K video recording, 8MP wide-angle (80 degrees) selfie camera, fingerprint scanner, 4G with VoLTE, dual-SIM slots and 4000mAh battery. It runs Android Marshmallow out of the box.

Cool 1 dual-camera phone gets a temporary Rs. 1,000 price cut, available for Rs. 12,999


Coolpad is offering a limited period discount on the  mid-range dual-camera toting Cool 1 (Cool1 Dual in China) smartphone in India. The phone was launched in the country last December for Rs. 13,000, but has now received a temporary Rs. 1,000 price cut, and is available for Rs. 12,999.

At the reduced price the Cool 1 is up for grabs from Coolpad's online sales partner Amazon India. The brand also claims that it sold two million units of Cool 1 smartphone globally.

To refresh you memory, the Cool 1 is the product of Coolpad/LeEco partnership. It feature two 13MP camera at the back for depth sensing with a bokeh effect. The main cameras are assisted by dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and 4K video recording.

The Cool 1 has 5.5-inch Full HD display, and is powered by Snapdragon 625 chip. It comes with 4GB RAM, non expandable 32GB storage, 8MP front camera and 4000mAh battery. Other specifications include fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11ac, USB Type-C, fast charging and Android Marshmallow.

Coolpad Note 5 Lite with 13MP camera, selfie flash launched in India at Rs. 8,199


At CES 2017, Coolpad introduced a mid-range smartphone called Conjr for the U.S market. Now the phone has been launched in India under the brand's Note series as Coolpad Note 5 Lite.

The Coolpad Note 5 Lite features 5-inch HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735CP processor with 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, which can be expanded via microSD card.

Running Android Marshmallow, the phone gets 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and 8MP front camera assisted by LED flash as well to let you capture better selfies under low light condition.

Connectivity options include hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and is backed by 2500mAh battery. The fingerprint scanner, apart from unlocking the phone can also be used to make or receive calls, record calls, open apps and capture images. For this you have to pre-set any one of the option.

The Coolpad Note 5 Lite is priced at Rs. 8,199 and will be available exclusively through Amazon India starting March 21 in Gold and Grey hues. At this price point the Note 5 Lite will compete with Xiaomi's upcoming Redmi 4 phones.

Coolpad 3632 with 6.1-inch display, SD425, Nougat spotted on GFXBench


A new budget smartphone from Coolpad called Coolpad 3632 with a large display and Android Nougat has run through GFXBench revealing most the specs, which are entry-level.

As per the benchmark listing, the Coolpad 3632 will features a huge 6.1-inch display with a disappointing screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA). But this might be an error, given the very less ppi. It can be expected the resolution to be higher (1280 x 720px considering the rest of the specs) or the screen size to be smaller.

It will be powered by 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor, and include 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

The listing also reveals that Coolpad 3632 will have 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The usual connectivity suite including 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS will be present, along with dual-SIM slots.

Currently there's no word regarding the phone's launch date and price, but it should be priced under Rs. 7,000.

Coolpad Conjr with 3GB RAM, selfie flash launched


Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad at CES launched a new mid-range smartphone called Conjr. Running Android Marshmallow the phone flaunts a premium metal unibody design and has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Coolpad Conjr comes with 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor backed by Mali 450 GPU and 3GB RAM. It has 16GB internal storage, with storage expansion support via microSD card slot.

The camera department is handled by 13MP f/2.2 rear camera with LED flash, and 8MP selfie camera with LED flash as well to let you capture better selfies in low-light environments.

In terms of connectivity, there's support for dual-SIMs, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS, while the 2500mAh battery inside will keep the phone running.

The Coolpad Conjr is priced at $180 (Rs. 12,000) and will be available in the U.S in Gold and Iron Grey color.

Cool 1 with 13MP dual cameras, 4000mAh battery launched in India at Rs. 13,999


Back in August LeEco and Coolpad collaborated to launch the Cool1 Dual in China. Now Coolpad aggressively targeting at the mid-range market has launched the Cool 1 with dual-rear cameras in India for Rs. 13,999. At this price, it is the most affordable dual-rear camera phone available in the country.

The dual rear camera setup on Cool 1 is a dual 13MP unit, which offers depth sensing with realistic bokeh. It also boasts dual-tone LED flash PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and 4K recording. For selfie, there's 8MP front shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens.

The Cool 1 sports a premium metal unibody design measuring at 152 x 74.8 x 8.2mm and weighs in at 167g.



Coming to the other specs, the Cool 1 has 5.5-inch Full HD Gorilla Glass 3 display, octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor, 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage (non-expandable). Connectivity duties are handled by dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type-C.

It is fueled by a beefy 4000mAh battery supported by fast charging and includes a fingerprint scanner at the back. Software-wise, it boots Android Marshmallow.

The Cool 1 will be available exclusively on Amazon India starting January 5, 2017 in Gold or Silver hues.

Cool Changer S1 with Snapdragon 821, 6GB RAM gets official


Coolpad in partnership with LeEco has launched a new high-end flagship smartphone called Cool Changer S1 in China. The phone's body has been constructed entirely out of metal using an injection moulding process giving it a sleek body.

The Cool Changer S1 features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by Snapdragon 821 processor further aided by Adreno 530 GPU. It comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB storage options.

For photography, there's 16MP Sony IMX298 rear camera with LED flash, and is capable of recording 4K video at 30fps. The rear camera also boasts phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). There's also a fingerprint scanner on the back. On the front it has 8MP camera for selfies and video calling.

Running Android Marshmallow based eUI 5.8, the Cool Changer S1 packs 4070mAh battery and supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C (with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging) for connectivity. It also has two front firing speakers from premium audio maker Harman Kardon.

The Cool Changer S1 is priced at CNY 2499 ($359 | Rs. 24,000) for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant. The 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant is priced CNY 2699 ($388 | Rs. 26,500), while the 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant will cost CNY 3199 ($460 | Rs. 31,000). The phone also comes bundled with a premium pair of headphones from AKG worth CNY 999 ($143 | Rs. 10,000).

Coolpad Mega 3, Note 3S launched in India


Coolapd has launched two new mid-range 4G-VoLTE enabled smartphones in India dubbed Mega 3 and Note 3S. The Chinese smartphone maker has also collaborated with Relaince Jio to offer Jio SIM to its customers.

The main highlight of Coolpad Mega 3 is that it comes with three-SIM card slots, along with a separate slot for a microSD card. It features 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt expandable storage. The phone comes with 8MP front and rear cameras, each accompanied by an LED flash. It runs Android Marshmallow and is fueled by a 3050mAh battery. Mega 3 will be available in Gold, Grey and White color options.

The Coolpad Note 3S on the other hand features a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS 2.5D curved glass display, quad-core Snapdragon 405 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. The dual-SIM phone runs Android Marshmallow and is backed by 2500mAh battery. For photography, it includes 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front camera. Also on-board is a fingerprint scanner, that is located at the back to unlock the phone. It comes in Gold and White color options.

The Coolpad Note Mega and Note 3S are priced at Rs. 6,999 and Rs. 9,999 respectively and will be exclusively available from Amazon India starting December 7. Both phones will be competing with Xiaomi's Redmi 3S/3S Prime, Lenovo K6 Power and LeEco Le 2.

LeEco, Coolpad outs Cool Changer 1C with 3GB RAM, 4060mAh battery


After Cool 1 Dual, LeEco and Coolpad has collaborated once again to launch Cool Changer 1C in home market of China.

The Cool Changer 1C sports the same design as Cool 1 Dual, but instead of dual-rear cameras, it comes with a single camera at the back, which is a 13MP unit with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, dual-tone LED flash and capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps. Apart from the design, the rest of the spec sheet are also similar to Cool 1 Dual.

It has 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 652 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage, 8MP front camera and fueled by a beefy 4060mAh battery. Other features include dual-SIM slots, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, fast charge support and USB Type-C port. It will run Android Marshmallow with EUI 5.6 on top. 

The Cool Changer 1C is priced at CNY 899 ($130 | Rs. 9,000) and will go on sale from December 5 in China. At this price it is one of the most affordable Snapdragon 652 powered smartphone with 4K video recording capabilities available in the market.

Coolpad India to launch Mega 3 and Note 3S on November 30


Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad has scheduled an event for November 30 for the launch of Mega 3 and Note 3S smartphone in India. The event takes place soon after Coolpad launched the Note 5 with 4GB RAM and 4010mAh battery for Rs. 10,999.

The Coolpad Mega 3 and Note 3S are the successors of Mega 2.5D (Rs. 6,999) and Note 3 (Rs. 8,999) respectively and will be budget smartphones priced under Rs. 10,000.

The Coolpad Mega 3 is expected to feature 5.5-inch HD display and equipped with MediaTek MT6735P processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 8MP front and rear camera, 4G VoLTE and 3050mAh battery. It will run Cool UI 8.0 on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow and have a triple-SIM slot. Unfortunately there's no word regarding specs of Coolpad Note 3S.

Coolpad smartphones have always been an Amazon India exclusive, so it is most likely that the Mega 3 and Note 3S will follow the same trend. Moreover the Mega 3 has already been listed on Amazon India's dummy page. We should find out the pricing and availability details along with the specs on Wednesday

LeEco and Coolpad to collaborate on a new 'Cool' smartphone


Chinese device makers LeEco and Coolpad worked together to the Cool1 Dual smartphone, which was unveiled in China in August this year boasting dual rear cameras. Both companies partnered after Jia Yueting, CEO of LeEco, took over as Coolpad’s Chairman in August.

The Cool1 Dual was a mid-range smartphone starting at CNY 1099 or $166 or Rs. 11,000. Now it looks like both companies are teaming up once again, but this for a flagship device with high-end specs.

The new phone called Cool received TENAA certification, and as usual the whole spec sheet and product shots of the device was posted on the website.

As per the listing, Cool will have a 5.5-inch Full HD display and powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB/6GB RAM alongside 32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage. The RAM and storage combinations are unknown. It will feature 16MP rear camera and 8MP front camera, pack 4000mAh battery, and run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The new Cool smartphone has a design similar to LeEco's Le Pro 3, but instead of brush finish metal, the Cool's rear side looks clean and comes in Gold, White, Silver, Blue and Black colors.

Currently the launch data is not known, but since TENAA has given green signal, it can be expected soon.
