Blu Vivo 8L with 20MP selfie camera, 4000mAh battery launched in the U.S


U.S based device maker is launching a selfie-focused handset in its home market dubbed Vivo 8L. It gets 20MP f/2.0 wide-angle front camera with selfie flash to capture better selfies in low-light conditions.

The phone also packs a beefy 4000mAh battery that promise up to 30 days of standby time and up two days of normal usage. It also supports fast charging as well as reverse charging functionaly, which means the phone can doubles up as power bank to charge other devices via USB OTG.

As for the other specs, the Vivo 8L comes with 5.3-inch HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor coupled with Mali-T720 GU and 3GB RAM. It comes with 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. 

The main camera unit houses a 13MP f/2.0 Sony IMX258 sensor assisted by PDAF, Laser auto-focus and LED flash. It runs Android Nougat and supports 4G LTE, WiFi and Bluetooth. There's also a fingerprint scanner at the back.

The Blu Vivo 8L has been priced at $199.99, however, as part of limited promotions can be grabbed for just $149.99. It will be available exclusively on Amazon in the U.S in Midnight Black.

Blu outs Advance A5, Advance A5 Plus budget smartphones in the U.S


U.S based smartphone maker Blu has launched two new smartphone in its home country dubbed Advance A5 and Advance A5 Plus. Both are budget smartphones with aluminum body and curved glass display, and runs Android Nougat out of the box. They also support 4G LTE and have selfie flash, for improved low-light selfie capturing.

The Advance A5 Plus features 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. It gets 13MP rear camera and 8MP front facing camera, both accompanied by an LED flash modules.

The Advance A5 on the other hand is an affordable option featuring 5-inch HD display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, with microSD card support. For photography, it has 8MP rear and 5MP front facing camera, both assisted by dedicated LED flash unit. The battery capacity of both phones are not mentioned.

As for the pricing, the Blu Advance A5 is priced at $109.99 (Rs. 7,000), while the Blu Advance A5 Plus costs $89.99 (Rs. 6,000). Both are available in the U.S from Amazon in Black colors.

BLU outs the rugged Tank Extreme Pro in the U.S


U.S based budget smartphone maker has launched a new budget smartphone in its home market dubbed Tank Xtreme Pro. It's a rugged device boasting IP68 rating, which makes it waterproof for up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. It is also dust-proof and shock resistant and able to withstand drops, thanks to the inclusion of dual layer rubbed injection.

In terms of specifications, the BLU Tank Xtreme Pro features 5-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

It is equipped with 8MP rear camera with an LED flash and 5MP front facing camera. For connectivity there's dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It runs Android Nougat and packs a massive 4300mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to two days of usage, and up to 30 day of standby time on a single full charge. Color options include Red, Green, Blue and Black.

The Tank Extreme Pro is currently listed on BLU's official website and is expected to available via Amazon soon and other US retailers.

BLU R1 Plus, $140 smartphone with 4000mAh battery, 13MP camera, selfie flash


US based BLU is launching a new budget smartphone in home market called R1 Plus. It is the successor of BLU R1 HD, and comes with improved set of specs. 

It packs a beefy battery capacity of 4000mAh battery boasting up to 30 days of standby time and up to three days of run time. It comes with dual-SIM slots and 4G LTE and supports AT&T and T-Mobile's networks (not compatible with Verizon or Sprint).

The BLU R1 Plus has a 5.5-inch HD Gorilla Glass 3 display and is powered by 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor. It comes in two variants: 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB RAM/32GB storage. The storage is expandable via microSD card.

The phone gets 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 8MP front facing camera with selfie falsh. It runs Android Marshmallow and also has WiFi and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity.

The 2GB RAM/16GB storage BLU R1 Plus is priced at $140 and will be available in the US via Best Buy, while the 3GB RAM/32GB storage model costs $160 and is available through Amazon US.

BLU Life One X2 Mini with 5-inch display, 13MP camera launched in US


US based budget smartphone maker has launched a new smartphone called Life One X2 Mini in its home market. It is the compact version of Life One X2 Mini with a smaller screen size and reduced camera megapixels and battery capacity.

The BLU Life One X2 Mini sports 5-inch Full HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and PDAF and is fueled by 2300mAh battery. (versus 5.2-inch, 16MP & 3000mAh battery on Life One X2). These are the only difference between the two phones, and the rest of the specifications remain unchanged.

It features Snapdragon 430 chip, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and 8MP front camera with selfie flash. Other specs include fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and fast charging. The phone runs Android Marshmallow out of the box.

The BLU Life One X2 Mini is available in the US through Amazon.com for $179.99 (Rs. 8,000) in Gold, Grey and Rose Gold hues.

BLU Xtreme Tank 5.0 is a $130 rugged phone with 3000mAh battery


U.S based BLU has outed a new rugged smartphone in its home-market called Tank Xtreme 5.0. It sports a rugged body made of durable rubber with shock-absorbent frame and is IP65 rated for water and dust resistance to withstand the most demanding conditions. The specs in offer are what you would expect from an entry-level smartphone.

The BLU Tank Xtreme 5.0 has 5-inch HD display, which is protected by a layer of Corning;s Gorilla Glass 3 to keep scratches at bay. It is equipped with quad-core MediaTek MT6580 chip, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 5MP front and rear camera and 3000mAh battery, which promises up 2.5 day of mixed usage.

Blu Vivo XL2 with 5.5-inch display, 3GB RAM, 8MP selfie-camera launched in the US


Budget smartphone maker BLU has launched a new mid-range smartphone in home market US called Vivo XL2. It is the successor of Vivo XL that was launched last year and comes with more RAM, storage and souped up selfie camera. It runs Android Marshmallow and sports a micro pattern on the back giving it a metallic sunburst effect.

The vivo XL2 features 5.5-inch HD Gorilla Glass 3 display, 1.4GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737T processor (w/ Mali-T720 GPU), 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion.

For photography, it is equipped with 13MP PDAF rear camera with LED flash and 8MP front shooter. Connectivity options include dual-SIM slots 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. A 3150mAh battery backed by fast charging technology runs the show.

Blu Life Max with 3300mAh battery launches in the U.S for $119


U.S based smartphone maker Blu has launched a battery-centric budget smartphone in its home market. Dubbed Blu Life Max, it packs a beefy 3700mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to three days of battery life with standard usage and 30 days of standby time. It also has a fingerprint scanner at the back.

Running Android Marshmallow, the Blu Life Max features 5.5-inch HD IPS display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 w/ Mali T720 GPU, 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

For photography, it gets 8MP rear camera with 1080p video recording capability and 5MP front camera for selfies and video calling, and both the cameras come with flash modules. Connectivity options include dual-SIM slots 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS.

U.S based budget smartphone make BLU has announced Line One X2 boasting of full metal unibody design, Android Marshmallow, 4GB RAM and fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button.

The BLU Life One X2 sports 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS curved glass display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor aided by Adreno 505 GPU and is backed by 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

U.S based smartphone BLU Mobile has launched a new smartphone in its home market dubbed Vivo 5R. It is the successor of Vivo 5 and comes with improved screen resolution, cameras and runs Android Marshmallow. The phone sports a premium metal unibody design and has a fingerprint scanner at the back, which was missing in Vivo 5.

The BLU Vivo 5R comes with 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) curved glass display and is powered by octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage, which can be increased via microSD card.

For photgraphy there's 13MP Sony IMX258 rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. On the front it has 8-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is fueled by a 3150mAh battery.

Blu Pure XR with Helio P10 SoC, 4GB RAM launched for $300 [U.S]


U.S based budget smartphone maker Blu has launched a new smartphone dubbed Pure XR. The phone packs top-end specs and is targeted at the mid-range market. It is made out of “high-end solid metal” and has thin bezels and invisible antenna lines. There's also a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button.

The Blu Pure XR features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED 3D Touch display protected by a layer of curved Gorilla Glass 3. The phone has of octa-core Helio P10 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

For photography it gets 16-megapixel rear camera boasting advanced technologies like f/1.8 aperture, 1/3-inch sensor, 6P lens, phase detection auto-focus with laser focus and real time HDR. For clicking selfies there's 8-megapixel front facing camera.

It also features USB Type-C port, DTS Surround Sound Technology to offer best audio experience, and is fueled by 3000mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 20 days of standby time. The phone is compatible with 4G LTE networks on T-Mobile and AT&T.

Considering the design and specs, the Pure XR appears to be a re-branded version of China's Gionee S8 for the U.S market.

The 6-inch BLU Energy XL comes with 5000mAh battery and $299 price tag


Following the launch the R1 HD, U.S based budget smartphone maker BLU has introduced the Energy XL with bigger display and battery. The phone sports metal build, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop (upgradable to Marshmallow) and has a fingerprint scanner under the home button.

The main highlight of Energy XL is its beefy 5000mAh battery, that BLU claims can last up to three days of standard usage and 30 days standby time. It also supports quick charge, with promised charge times from 0 to 15% in only 10 minutes, and from 0 to 43% in half an hour.

The Energy XL sports a bigger 6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 coating and is powere by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor further aided by Mali T720 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 64GB, which can be expanded via microSD card.

BLU R1 HD with Android Marshmallow starts at $100 without ad, $50 with lockscreen ads


U.S based budget smartphone maker BLU has announced an ultra-affordable Android smartphone dubbed R1 HD in the U.S The phone supports 4G LTE, VoLTE (added via OTA update) and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is upgradable to Android N.

The BLU R1 HD comes with 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6753 processor backed by Mali-T720 GPU. It comes in two variants — 1GB RAM + 8GB internal storage and 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage — with storage expansion option via microSD card (up to 64GB).

For photography, it gets 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1.12mm pixel size, 1/4 inch sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording. For video calling and selfies there's 5-megapixel front camera accompanied by LED flash.

Windows 10 Mobile update rolling out to Blu Win HD LTE X150E in India


The Blu Wind HD LTE X150E Windows powered phone has started receiving Windows 10 Mobile update in India. The update is being rolled out over-the-air and brings improved Cortana, Edge browser, refreshed UI design, more functional action center and more.

The Blu Win HD LTE was launched in India last year in August running Windows Phone 8.1 for Rs. 7,999, but is now available for as low as 4,999 in some e-commerce platforms. The phone comes with 5-inch HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE and 2500mAh battery.

The Blu Win Jr LTE, that was launched along with Win HD LTE will also be updated to Windows 10 Mobile in the near future. In addition, the same update will be rolled out to Blu Win HD W510u and Win HD LTE X510q.

BLU intros Dash X2, Dash M2 with metal body and Android Marshmallow for under $100


U.S based budget smartphone maker BLU earlier this week launched two new budget smartphone priced under $100. Dubbed Dash X2 and Dash M2, both phones sport metal body, run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and support only 3G.

The BLU Dash X2 features a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6580) processor backed by Mali 400 GPU and 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 8GB, which can be increased via microSD card. It gets an 8-megapixel rear shooter with LED flash and 2-megapixel selfie camera on front. Besides 3G, the dual-SIM phone supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS and is backed by 2200mAh battery.

The BLU Dash M2 features a 5-inch FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) display and is equipped with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor w/ Mali 400 GPU, 512MB RAM and 4GB inbuilt expandable storage. It comes with 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front camera. The phone also comes with dual-SIM slot and support 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is fueled by 2000mAh battery.

The BLU Dash X2 and Dash M2 are priced at $84.90 and $69.90 accordingly and are available in the U.S via Amazon.

BLU Diva II, Tank II feature phones launched in India


U.S based budget smartphone maker BLU has launched to feature phones in India, Diva II and Tank II (left and right respectively in the image). They come with 2G support, dual-SIM slot, FM Radio and sports 0.3-megapixel VGA rear camera with LED flash.

The BLU Diva II has a 2.4-inch 240 x 320 display, 32MB RAM, 32MB inbuilt expandable storage (upto 32GB), a torch, MP3 & MP4 players and comes with built-in antenna for analogue TV. It packs 1100mAh battery, which offers 18 hours of talk time and 650 hours of standby time. The handst comes in Grey and White colors.

The BLU Tank II features are same as Diva II (excluding built-in antenna), but comes with a 1900mAh battery, which promises 16 hours of talk time and 30 days of standby time, and comes in Black w/ Blue, Black w/ Red, Black w/ Yellow and White w/ Blue colors.

The Blue Diva II and Tank II are priced at Rs. 1,649 and Rs. 1,299 respectively and are exclusively available on Amazon India.

BLU Life Mark with 13MP rear camera, fingerprint scanner launched in India for Rs. 8,999


U.S based BLU has launched a new budget 4G-enabled smartphone in India, the Life Mark. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, supports 4G LTE and comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back.

The BLU Life Mark comes with 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit processor coupled with Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 64GB.

For imaging its sports 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is backed by 2300mAh battery.

The BLU Life Mark is priced at Rs. 8,999 and will be exclusively available from Amazon India. At this price point, the Blu Life Mark will be competing against the likes of Honor Holly 2 Plus (Rs. 8,499), and the Coolpad Note 3 Lite (Rs. 6,999).

Blu Vivo 5, Vivo XL with 5.5-inch display announced


U.S based budget smartphone maker Blu, has announced two new stylish Android smartphones- Vivo 5 and Vivo XL at CES 2016. The Vivo 5 sports a full metal design and while Vivo XL has a liquid metal finish. They share the same specs except for the RAM and storage.

The Blu Vivo 5 sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is equipped with 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with Mali T720 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, further expandable via microSD card up to 64GB. The dual-SIM runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and qualifies for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the near future.

For photography, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, PDAF and can record 1080p videos. For clicking selfies you get a 5-megapixel front snapper. Connectivity options include 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFI 801.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB Type-C. BLU announces tablet-sized Studio 7.0 LTE smartphone for $199


U.S based BLU products announced the Blue Studio 7.0 LTE, a smartphone with nearly tablet-sized display, while offering 4G LTE connectivity and Dual-SIM support.

The BLU Studio 7.0 LTE features 7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS OGS display and is equipped with 1.2GHz quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB RAM. Onboard storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 64GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. 

The 8-megapixel camera on the back is accompanied by an LED flash and is capable of recording 1080p videos. Front facing camera is 2-megapixel. 

The 4G LTE is supported on T-Mobile and AT&T network, which includes Metro PCS, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile, Cricket, and others. In addition it also supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity. It is fueled by 3700mAh battery.

US based smartphone maker BLU has added two new smartphones to its portfolio-  Studio Energy 2 and Energy X. Both the smartphones offers long battery life.

The Blu Studio Energy 2 packs a 5000mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 3 days of standard usage and 20 days of Standby time. The Energy X has a 4000mAh battery rated to deliver up to 3 days of standard use and over 30 days of standby time. Both the smartphones run Android Lollipop and has dual-SIM and microSD card slots.

Individually, Blu Studio Energy 2 features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is equipped with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor with Mali- T720 GPU, 1.5GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt expandable storage. For imaging, there is 8-megapixel camera at the back with LED flash and 5-megapixel front facing camera. It supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity.
