Reliance Jio's LYF smartphone brand's C series is receiving some offers, that will reduce the effective price of Lyf C451 and Lfy C459. LYF is offering these phone with complimentary Jio benefits worth Rs. 2,307.
The LYF C451 and C459 retails at Rs. 4,999 and Rs. 4,699 respectively, and between October 2 and October 22, these phones will be available with a new LYF mega offer. The offer is to lure first time 4G VoLTE smartphone buyers by bundling additional data for free.
The Mega Offer gives customers of LYF C451 and C459, Reliance Jio's Prime membership worth Rs. 99, a complimentary Rs. 399 plan voucher that gives 1GB data per day and unlimited voice calls for 84 days. Additionally, customers will also get 5GB 4G data vouchers worth Rs. 201 each for nine months (totaling Rs. 1,809). Adding all this will give customers freebies worth Rs. 2,307.

Similar to other LYF-branded smartphone, the LYF F8 comes with dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE and VoLTE (Voice over LTE). However, it ships with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow instead of Android Lollipop, which runs on almost all of the low end LYF smartphones (Below Rs. 5,000).

The list of smartphone explosions seems to be growing by the day. After Galaxy Note7 fiasco, a lot of instances have been reported on battery explosion.
The latest victim is the user of Reliance LYF smartphone, which was reportedly exploded when in use. Tanvir Sadiq, who describes himself as Political Secretary to the working president of Jammu and Kashmir on his twitter handle claimed that his LYF smartphone "exploded and burst into flames".
Sadiq did not reveal which LYF smartphone he was using, but the images tweeted by him indicates that it was LYF Water 1. Reliance LYF team has reached out to Tanvir, after their attention was drawn towards the incident.
Meanwhile, Reliance’s LYF has also issued an official statement saying "LYF range of phones are designed and manufactured with global standards by some of the world’s leading manufacturers of mobile phones… We are concerned about the incident reported in social media and are taking the matter seriously. We are assessing the cause and will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter."
This is not the first time a incident regarding LYF Water 1 has been reported. Back in September a user claimed that his Water 1 smartphone exploded in his hand while he was browsing Facebook.
