Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 Windows 10 Mobile tablet, Pixi 4 running Android Marshmallow announced


Alcatel OneTouch introduced two tablets at CES 2016 - Pixi 3 tablet running Windows 10 Mobile and Pixi 4 tablet running Android Marshmallow. 

The Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 Windows tablet has a SIM slot, supports 4G LTE connectivity and comes with voice calling capabilities. The tablet will also support direct OS updates from Microsoft. The Pixi 4 Android tablet also comes with voice calling capabilities as it supports 3G.

The Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 Windows 10 Mobile tablet sports a 8-inch WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS TFT display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 (MSM8909) processor paired with 1GB RAM, and comes with 8GB internal storage, further expandable via microSD card. The tablet is equipped with 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera. Apart from 4G LTE, it supports Bluetooth 4.1 WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Direct and GPS connectivity. It is fueled by 4060mAh battery.

The Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 4 tablet running Android Marshmallow features 7-inch 1024 x 600 display and is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8321 processor clocked at 1.1GHz, clubbed with 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 8GB, further expandable via microSD card. It is equipped with 2-megapixel rear and 0.3-megapixel front camera. Connectivity support include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It packs a 2580mAh battery. The tablet is IP52 rated making it dustproof and waterproof.


The Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 Windows 10 Mobile tablet is priced at $199 and will be available sometime in April in Europe and Latin America. The pricing and availability details of Pixi 4 Android tablet is not known.

Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL with Windows 10 Mobile gets official


Alcatel OneTouch has introduced its first smartphone running Windows 10 Mobile, the Fierce XL. Just like other Windows 10 Mobile-based devices, the Fierce XL comes with Microsoft's voice assistant Cortana, Edge browser, and productivity suite of apps including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and OneDrive.

For specifications, the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and equipped with 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, further expandable via microSD card. 

There is an 8-megapixel camera on the back with LED flash and 5-megapixel snapper on the front. Connectivity features include 4G LTE with VoLTE (Voice over LTE), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is fueled by 2000mAh battery, which promises 14 hours of talk time and 820 hours of standby time.

The Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL will be exclusively available from T-mobile in the US for $140 (Rs. 9350). It will be available in January or February, 2016. The Fierce XL comes with T-Mobile specific features such as FCC mandated anti-theft protection and Wi-Fi calling compatibility.

Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 4 smartphones announced


Alcatel OneTouch has announced its new Pixi 4 family of devices which consists of three smartphones. The new smartphones are meant to be premium style entry-level device, offering a comprehensive user experience in design, audio, camera and battery life. The PIXI 4 smartphones come in 3.5-inch and 4-inch variants and there is a 6-inch phablet as well.

The Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 4 (3.5) sports a 3.5-inch HVGA (320 x 480 pixels) display and is powered by 1.1GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572M processor paired with 512MB RAM, 4GB expandable storage (up to 32GB) and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. It is equipped with 2-megapixel rear camera w/ LED flash and VGA (0.3) front camera.

The Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 4 (4) comes with 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) QVGA display and is powered by quad-coreMediaTek MT6580M processor clocked at 1.3GHz . It comes in two RAM/ROM model - 512MB RAM w/ 4GB storage and 1GB RAM w/ 8GB storage, microSD card slot is present. It comes with 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Another version featuring 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera is also available. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. The 3.5-inch and 4-inch Pixi 4 smartphones support 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.

The Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 4 (6) sports a 6-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor with 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 8GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. For imaging there is 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front facing camera. It is fueled by 2580mAH battery.

Alcatel OneTouch has not revealed the pricing and availability of Pixi 4 series smartphones.

Alcatel OneTouch unveils CareTime watch for kids


In addition to the Pixi 4 series smartphones, Alcatel OneTouch also unveiled CareTime watch for children, which is equipped with GPS tracking and call and message functionality.

The CareTime watch is aimed at children from age 5 to 9 and helps parents stay connected with their kids, allowing them to call or send voice messages to their children. Kids can pre-set 10 contacts and reply to them or register 5 number to make calls, as the watch supports 2G network connectivity. The interface of the watch is simple that makes navigation for kids easy.

Parents can track their kids location on their smartphone with the help of companion iOS and Android app. They will even be notified when their kids enter or leave pre-set safe zone. For this the watch uses a blend of GPS, GSM and WiFi to locate kids withing 60 seconds when they are outdoors.

The CareTime watch sports a 0.95-inch OLED display with 96 x 64 pixels resolution and is IP65 rate for protection against dust and water. It is rated to deliver 4 days of battery life of standby.

The CareTime watch will be available in April 2016. There is no word on pricing.

Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL with 5.5-inch display, 4G LTE announced for $139

Alcatel OneTouch has announced a new smartphone, the Fierce XL. The main highlight of the Fierce XL is the inbuilt Polaroid software, for which the company partner with Polaroid to bring Polaroid camera mode. It supports LTE bands 2, 4, and 12, as well as Wi-Fi Calling and Voice over LTE (VoLTE).

Alcatel OneTouch features 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 (MSM8909) processor with Adreno 505 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop.

For imaging, there is a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front facing camera, as well as Polaroid photo editing software that can apply filters, borders, and layouts and add tags to images.

Connectivity features include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It is fueled by 2500mAh battery which is rated to deliver 12 hours of talk time and 360 hours of standby time.

The Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL is priced at $139 (Rs. 9050) and will be available online at MetroPCS.com in the US from November 2 and will be coming to T-Mobile later this winter.

Alcatel Flash 2 with 13MP camera, 4G LTE launched in India for Rs. 9,299


Alcatel OneTouch has launched its latest camera-centric Flash 2 smartphone in India. The smartphone falls in the mid-range category and has a curved back with contoured sides for a better grip. The company is calling it the Alcatel Flash 2 in India, even though there is AlcatelOne Touch logo on the back. 

The Alcatel Flash 2 features 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) IPS LCD display and is equipped with 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 64-bit processor with Mali T720 GPU and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and has dual-SIM slots. 

For imaging there is 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Samsung S5K3M2 ISOCELL sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens with blue glass optical filter and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). The rear camera can shoot 1080p videos. On the front sits a 5-megapixel selfie camera with Soft LED flash, OV5648 1/4" sensor and f/2.2 aperture. 

On the connectivity front, Flash 2 supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is fueled by 3000mAH battery that offers 10 hours of talk time, 30 hours of music playback, and 600 hours of standby time. Also supported is a Smart Power Saving Mode feature. The device comes in Volcanic Grey color.

Alcatel Flash 2 is priced at Rs. 9,299 and will be available exclusively from Flipkart starting October 27 via flash sale. Registrations for the sale is now open.

Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL tipped to come in Windows 10 Mobile and Android versions


Press renders of Alcatel One Touch Fierce XL have leaked courtesy of @evleaks. The Fierce XL will have two version- one running Windows 10 Mobile, and the other running Android. Both have identical design, navigation buttons and share the same specifications.

As per earlier leaks, the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL will sport a 5.5-inch 720p display and equipped with 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage. There is an 8-megapixel camera on the back and 5-megapixel camera on the front. It packs 2500mAh battery and supports 4G with VoLTE.

The Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL, Windows 10 Mobile and Android version, will head to T-Mobile USA sometime in December.

Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 with 5-inch HD display, 13MP camera announced


Alcatel OneTouch has announced OneTouch Flash 2,  camera centric smartphone and the successor to last year's sleeper hit handset 'Flash'. The handset falls in the mid-range category and has a curved back with contoured sides for a better grip.  

Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 features 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) IPS LCD display and is equipped with 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 64-bit processor with Mali T720 GPU and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and has dual-SIM slots.

It will also roll out in Philippines, Thailand (September 25), Indonesia (September 29), Vietnam (October 13), Malaysia (October 15) and Singapore  via online retailer LAZADA.

Alcatel OneTouch Watch launched in India for Rs. 7,999

Alcatel OneTouch has launched the company's smartwatch in India.  It was initially introduced at CES this year and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. Much like other wearable devices, Alcatel OneTouch Watch monitors daily activities like sleeping patterns, and keeps track of heart rate, calories burnt, and distance walked. It also shows notifications for incoming calls, missed calls, SMS messages, emails, Facebook, WhatsApp and more.

Alcatel OneTouch Watch sports a 1.22-inch (240 x 240 pixels) TFT touchscreen display with oleophobic coating. The band measures 41.8mm in diameter and weighs 55g. The dial has a stainless steel material and includes a rubber strap. It is powered by STM429 chipset and is IP67 certified for dust and water resistance. On-board sensors include an accelerometer, gyro, altimeter, heart rate sensor, vibration motor, and NFC. It runs on the company's proprietary OS.
 

The swartwatch connects to your Android (4.3 Jelly bean and up) or Apple (iOS 7 and up) devices via Bluetooth 4.0. It is backed by 210mAh battery which delivers two to five days of use, and takes an hour to charge.  A USB port built into the band that allows it to be charged directly from PC or laptop. Touching the display will activate a multimedia remote control with which you can click images or control music. It comes in sporty dark red or volcano black and White colors

The Alcatel OneTouch Watch  is priced at Rs. 7,999 and is now available to buy exclusively on Flipkart.

Alcatel OneTouch introduces PIXI 3 (10) Android tablet


At IFA 2015, Alcatel OneTouch introduced its latest Android tablet under the PIXI 3 family, the PIXI 3 (10). It is the company's largest tablet to join the PIXI 3 tablet line up and comes in either WiFi only or 3G models in two colors, Volcano Black and White. The PIXI 3 (10) runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 3 (10) tablet features 10-inch display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and is equipped with 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT8127 32-bit processor with 1GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage (up to 64GB supported). Camerawise, it sports 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front shooter. A 4060mAh battery gives life to the tablet. 

The PIXI 3 (10) tablet has voice-call-enabled as its supports 3G connectivity. You can also connect peripheral devices like USB keys, external hard disks, digital cameras, printers and more.

The pricing and availability details are still unknown, though its specs suggest that it will an affordable offering.

Alcatel OneTouch Pixi First ultra-budget smartphone announced

Alcatel OneTouch also announced, Pixi First, a phone targeted at entry-level market. The company claims the Pixi First to be "one of the slimmest 4-inch smartphone on the market". However, it is at the rock bottom when it comes to specs.

Pixi First features a small 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) display and is powered by quad-core Spreadtrum 7731 SoC clocked at 1.2GHz clubbed with 512MB RAM. On-board storage is 4GB, further expandable via microSD card. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat, have dual-SIM slot and supports 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. 

For imaging there is 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front shooter. It is fueled by 1450mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 300 hours standby time and 7 hours talk time.

The phone has a 9.7mm slim body and sports elegant covers with metallic fininshing which comes in four color- Soft Slate, Metal Silver, Metal Gold and Rose Gold.

The pricing and availability details are not known yet.

Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3C is a colorful variant of Idol 3

AlcatelOneTouch at IFA 2015 has already introduced a handful of smartphones – the OneTouch Pop Up, Pop Star, and the Go Play, and a new smartwatch called the OneTouch Go Watch. In addition, the company announced the Idol 3C, a colourful variant of Idol 3.

To recap Idol 3 was announced at MWC 2015 and featured 5.5-inch display with front firing speaker, Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor, and carried the price tag of $250. The main highlight of the device was its two microphones, one on top and the other on bottom so you can pick up the phone in any orientation to answer a call.

The Idol 3C also has the same fully reversible nature that lets users answer call even when holding it upside down. In addition, it comes with a number of swappable covers in White, Red, Green, Pink, and Yellow colors.

Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3C features the same 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display seen on the Idol 3. Other similar specs are a 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor further aided by Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. For imaging there is 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and 8-megapixel selfie camera. In terms of connectivity, it offers Cat.4 LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, and A-GPS. A 2,910mAh battery provides the juice to the phone. The Idol 3C has JBL-branded stereo speakers rated at 1.2W and also feature Harman Clari-Fi.

The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3C is expected to retail around $250, and will be initially available in the US and Europe.

Alcatel OneTouch Xess tablet with 17.3-inch display and stylus announced


Besides announcing three handsets and a smartwatch, Alcatel OneTouch also announced Xess tablet. This new tablet is aiming to be a family-oriented  for use in the kitchen for displaying recipes, in the living room for watching movies, and more. It has an adjustable built-in stand and a slide-out carrying handle which can make the tablet stand in different modes (30 degrees, 50 degrees and 75 degrees). It also has wall mount and smart dock accessories for more viewing angles.

Alcatel OneTouch Xess features 17.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) touch screen display and is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT8783T processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, supports WiFi 802.11 b/g.n, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and is fueled by 10000mAh battery. There is also dual 3-watt speakers powered with JBL by Harman technology for clear audio output. and USB ports.

Due to the bigger display, the tablet comes with a built-in stylus and has hands-free gesture control for controlling the screen by performing various hand gestures. It comes with SkecthBook app with different brushes, colors and effects that lets users to take advantage of the huge tablet.

Alcatel also plans to offer a version with a blue light film over the display to mitigated the purported ill effects of electronically-generated blue light.

Alcatel OneTouch did not reveal the pricing and availability details of the Xess tablet. 

Alcatel OneTouch announces Go Play smartphone, Go Watch wearable

At IFA 2015, Alcatel OneTouch introduced its brand new GO family under which it launched the Go Play and its companion Go Watch. Both are designed for active users and are always ready for action, be it clicking pictures underwater, roll in the mud or drop it from a height of 1.5 meters. They can take it all.

Alcatel OneTouch Go Play sports a robust desin and is IP67 certified making it shockproof, waterproof and dustproof. The phone comes with 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is equipped with 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, further aided by Adreno 405 GPU and 1GB RAM. Storage capacity is 8GB, further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, has dual-SIM functionalities and supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity. 

For imaging there is 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front shooter for taking selfies. It is fueled by 2500mAh battery which is rated to deliver 20 days of standby time, 8.3 hours of talktime and 55 hours of music playback. The Go Play can also be clubbed with waterproof headsets and protective case and is offered in dark grey, dark red, dark green, orange blue, pink, lime green, blue and orange flavors.
The Alcatel OneTouch Go Watch also comes with IP67 certification, making it shockproof, waterproof and dustproof. It runs on company's proprietary OS and not Android wear, but supports both Android (4.3 Jelly Bean and up) and iOS (and later versions) devices.

Go Watch features 1.22-inch LCD IPS circular display with 240 x 240 pixels resolution and is powered by 180MHz cortex-M4 based processor and supports Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. It is backed by 225mAh battery which can be charged via micro-USB connectivity and run for 2 to 5 days on a single charge. The smartwatch is 100 percent customisable as users can change both its front casing and the wristband.

It comes with a new GoPro app, which allows you to control camera from your wrist. It can also track fitness such as steps taken, distance traveled and also sleep cycles. It also notifies about SNS, SMS, emails, calls and weather. There is a GO button that lets you trigger an 'emotion pulse measurement' that creates an 'emotional graphic' from the results collected from gyroscope, heartrate sensor and accelerometer which you share on social network or set as wall paper..

There is no word on the OneTouch Go Play and OneTouch Go Watch pricing and availability details.

Alcatel OneTouch's Pop Star, Pop Up are heavily customizable smartphones


Alcatel OneTouch unveiled its new POP smartphones at IFA, Pop Start and Pop Up,  part of the brand's POP series.

Alcatel OneTouch Pop Star is a "fashion forward smartphone with a large collection of covers" which includes wild colors and psychedelic designs from the funky collection, leather collection, fashion collection and the nature ECO collection. Pop Up has a metal frame with glass hard key and a backcover with a 3D spin effect.

Alcatel OneTouch Pop Star (above) features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS fully laminated display with 160-degree wide viewing angle. Inside there is a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor with Mali 400 GPU and 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 8GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, has dual-SIM slot and supports 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity. For imaging there is 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front shooter. It is fueled by 2000mAh battery.

There is also a LTE variant of Pop Star that comes with 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor with Mali 400 GPU and 16GB storage capacity, with rest of the innards staying the same.

The microSD card slot accepts up to 32GB cards. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. Camerwise, it sports 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel selfie camera. The dual-SIM phone supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity. It is fueled by 2000mAh battery and comes in Black, Riva Blue, Amber Orange, White and Strawberry Red colors.

Alcatel OneTouch did not reveal the pricing and availability details of both phones.

Alcatel OneTouch Pop 8S with 4G LTE launched in India for Rs. 10,499

Alcatel OneTouch has forayed into the Indian tablet market with the launch of Pop 8S tablet with 4G LTE. This is the company's first tablet for the Indian market. It was initially announced at IFA last year. 

The tablet also becomes the cheapest 4G LTE tablet in the country. There is also support for voice calling

Alcatel OneTouch Pop 8S packs 8-inch WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 8GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 64GB. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat,

Camerawise, it sports 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera and 3-megapixel front shooter. On the connectivity front the tablet supports 4G, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It draws power from a 4060mAh battery. 

Priced at 10,499, the Alcatel OneTouch Pop 8S comes in Black color and is available exclusively from Flipkart.

Alcatel OneTouch and Cyanogen terminates Hero 2+

Alcatel's OneTouch Hero 2+ with Cyanogen OS was unveiled at MWC and was expected to be launched in Canada and the U.S in Q2, but that did not happen.

Now Alcatel and Cyanogen has called off the release of the Hero 2+. According to both the companies, there was a problem in Android 5.1 Lollipop, the device "does not have a clear Android 5.1 upgrade path'. 

It's worth noting that the Hero 2+ shipped with Cyanogen OS 11 based on Android 4.4 KitKat. As the device was not capable of  Android 5.1 Lollipop upgrade, both companies decided to scrap the phone.

Alcatel and Cyanogen released a statement that reads- "ALCATEL ONETOUCH and Cyanogen, Inc. have made a mutual decision to forgo the release of the HERO 2+. At its announcement, the goal of bringing this device to market was to offer the most advanced hardware and software at an affordable price. The bar was set high and unfortunately the device does not have a clear Android 5.1 upgrade path. We therefore are committing to refocus our joint efforts on a next-generation product that can exceed the expectations of end users. Our teams remain dedicated to releasing an ALCATEL ONETOUCH device powered by Cyanogen OS, and are looking to share an update when we have more details to share."

Both companies still have hope and announced that they are committed to releasing a Cyanogen powered Alcatel OneTouch device in the future.

The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ features a 6-inch full-HD IPS OGS display with DragonTrail glass, 2.0GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6592 processor paired with Mali 450GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuit storage, microSD card slot, 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel front shooter, 3100mAh battery and the usual suite of connectivity options. It also comes with an integrated stylus pen for writing on the go. The price tag was $299.

Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ with Cyanogen OS coming soon to North America

Alcatel on Monday launched a new Cyanogen OS-based smartphone called OneTouch Hero 2+ at MWC 2015, Barcelona. The device is a 6-inch phablet with octa-core processor present onboard.
Alcatel will bring Cyanogen OS 11, a forkerd version of Android 4.4 KitKat on its OneTouch Hero 2+. It comes with an integrated stylus pen for writing on the go and has optimized handwriting recognition.
The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ features a 6-inch full-HD IPS OGS display with 1920x1080 pixels screen resolution with DragonTrail glass protection. It is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6592 processor paired with Mali 450GPU.

It houses 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuit storage, microSD card slot which supports upto 32GB of storage. 

Camera features inclide 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), LED flash and 1080p Full HD video recording. At the front there is a 5-megapixel camera for taking selfies.

It comes with the usual suite of connectivity options that include 4G LTE Cat.4 / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi direct Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is backed by 3100mAh battery, measures 160.5x 81.6 x 7.9mm and weighs 175grams.

The Alcatel One Touch Hero 2+ will first launch in US and Cannada in Q2 for $299 (Rs.18,500). The device will be one of the first Cyanogen OS bases phone to available in Canada and the US. Global release details are unknown.

Alcatel announce PIXI 3 range of smartphones and tablets


Alcatel has launched two new Android smartphones and three new tablets at the ongoing MWC 2015 show in Barcelona. The smartphones are Pixi 3 (5.5) 3G and Pixi 3 (5.5) 4G while the tablets include PIXI3 (7) Wi-Fi, PIXI3 (7) 3G and PIXI3 (7) 4G LTE.

The Alcatel Pixi 3 (5.5) 3G is a 3G enabled phone and features 5.5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6580 processor.  It will be available in two options - 8GB inbuilt storage and 1GB RAM or 4GB inbuilt storage and 512MB RAM. It also has a microSD card slot to expand the storage capacity which accepts microSD card up to 32GB. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. Camera features include 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera. it is backed by 2910mAh battery.

The Alcatel Pixi 3 (5.5) 4G is a 4G LTE smartphone. It features 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) TFT display, Qualcomm MSM8909 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage. The US variant will support up to32GB microSD card while the global version will include expansion up to 128 GB. A 2800 mAh battery runs the show. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. It come in two camera option - 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera or 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera.


Coming to the tablets, Both the Pixi 3 (7) Wi-Fi and Pixi 3 (7) 3G share the same specs with some minor changes. The Wi-Fi variant is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8127 processor while the 3G variant is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT8312 processor.  Rest of the specs on both the tablet include 7-inch HD (1024x600 pixels) TFT display, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and microSD card slot. The tablets are equipped with 2-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front facing camera. The tablet measures 189x111x9.1mm, weighs 260 grams and are backed by a 2820mAh battery

Lastly, The Pixi 3 (7) 4G LTE features 7-inch HD (1024x600) TFT display. It is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor. It packs 1GB RAM and houses 4GB inbuilt storage and microSD card slot. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. Camera features include 2-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.  It is backed by 2820mAh battery, measures 191x109x9.2mm and weighs 260 grams.

Alcatel has not revealed the pricing and availability details of the devices.

Alcatel announce Orange Klif smartphone with Firefox OS 2.0


France based handset manufacturer Alcatel in partnership with French operator Orange unveiled its latest Firefox OS smartphone called Orange Klif at MWC 2015, Barcelona. 

The Firefox OS is based on HTML5, has Adaptive App Search or the Single Window Search and also has Firefox marketplace to download applications.

The Alcatel Orange Klif features 3.5-inch (320 x 480 pixels) HVGA capacitive touch screen display. It is powered by an 1GHz dual-core MediaTek processor paired with 256MB RAm and 512MB internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot to increase the storage.

The handset comes equipped with 2-megapixel rear camera. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. It is backed by a 1300mAh battery.

Alcatel Orange Klif comes in only Black colour and is priced at $40 (Rs. 2,470) and will roll out in 13 African and Middle Eastern countries starting Q2 of 2015.
