Panasonic showcased a transparent display that fades to total transparency when not in use. In simple words, when it is on, it turns into a display and when off, it is a transparent glass. It can be mounted over shelving, completely obscuring the contents behind it when turned on.
At showcase in the Panasonic booth at CES, was a glass attached to shelf with various home decor behind it, which instantly turned into a display. The display on show was a thin LCD panel with adjustable dimensions. The display was not 100 percent transparent, but the Japanese tech giant says that they are getting there.
Reports suggest that the display has a slight tint when turned off, and engineers at Panasonic aims to get rid off. For now, the display cannot process resolution over 1080p.
There are no circuits inside the screen, but the wood beneath the glass is where all the technology is. The wood holds the micro LEDs that beams out the picture to the glass panel. For demo purpose, there was a music app which could be scrolled through using gestures. The display also showed weather forecast as well.
"Seamlessly blended into the decor, this
transparent LCD display shows screens that change to suit moods. The
display also can present high-resolution videos and function as a
windowpane when not displaying content. It can be adjusted for optimal
height when used as a display." said LG
CES 2016 has been quite promising in terms of display with new technology. LG showed off its foldable OLED display, which you can roll up like a paper.

Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility from Google in October 2014. In April 2015, the company revealed that Lenovo and Motorola would remain two separate brands. This is about to change as Lenovo is planning to phase out the Motorola branding from smartphones.
At this year's CES Motorola COO Rick Osterloh revealed to CNET that Lenovo and Motorola is unifying its mobile businesses under the Lenovo brand. As per Osterloh, the Lenovo will slowly phase out the Motorola brand name, however the Moto moniker will be retained as 'Moto by Lenovo', and will be used for high-end Lenovo devices. The budget devices will be released under the Vibe brand. The company will also retain the iconic batwing 'M' logo and will be used on Moto devices.
While this will mark the end of an era for Motorola, a brand credited with introducing the world's first mobile device, the brand name won't completely disappear from the archives, as it will be used in the organizational setting and there will be a separate Moto division.
Osterloh also said that his team would be taking over all the mobile operations at Motorola, in order to leverage both the companies strengths for Lenovo's benfit. This will help the company to offer Moto devices in markets where only Lenovo devices are popular and vice versa.
Both Lenovo and Motorola have been performing well in the market. Motorola has gained fan following and won accolades for its Moto G, Moto X and Moto E series smartphone, while Lenovo recently grabbed everyone's attention with the Vibe K4 Note.

The VR controllers have been enhanced with improved ergonomics and softer edges, improved balance, new textured button and grip pads for a more comfortable feel in the hand. The controller has a new dual stage trigger that makes interaction with objects smoother and haptic feed, to deliver vital feedback about your interactions with the virtual world. The controllers now have integrated rechargeable lithium polymer batteries with micro-USB charging that promises four hours of runtime on a single charge.
HTC also said that the Vive VR headset will launch commercially in April. The company will make additional 7000 Vive units available for developer.
