Lenovo recently launched the Tab 7 budget tablet in India with voice calling capabilities. Now in the U.S, Lenovo has launched the Tab 7, alongside a more affordable model called Tab 7 Essential. As a reminder, the Tab 7 offers 6.98-inch HD display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8735B/8161 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 5MP/2MP rear & front camera, 4G LTE and 3500mAh battery. It runs Android Nougat. In India, it is priced at Rs. 9,999, and is available from Flipkart. The affordable model, the Tab 7 Essential gets its specs toned down. It misses out on the voice calling function, and features 7-inch display with 1024 x 600 pixels resolution. The tablet is equipped with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8167D processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 2MP front & rear facing camera.

Back in 2011, Motorola introduced the Moto Xoom tablet, which was the first tablet based on Honeycomb, the Android version optimized for the tablets. It was followed by Xoom 2, after which Motorola withdrew from the tablet market. Now six years later, Motorola is making a comeback to the struggling tablet market with the mid-range Moto Tab. However, it will be limited to the U.S market, and exclusive to carrier AT&T. Coming to the specs, the Moto Tab features 10.1-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 2GB RAM. It comes with 32GB, which is expandable via microSD card. LG and U.S carrier T-Mobile released the mid-range G Pad X2 8.0 Plus in the U.S last month. Now LG and Sprint has launched another budget tablet in the U.S dubbed G Pad F2 8.0. Like the G Pad X2 8.0 Plus, Sprint's G Pad F1 8.0 also comes with an optional accessory called Plus Pack, which doubles as a kickstand. It packs an additional 4400mAh battery, and comes with 2 x 2W stereo speaker and a full size USB port to attach USB drives and hard drives. The LG G Pad F1 8.0 featurrd 8-inch WXGA (1200 x 800 pixels) display and is powered by octa-core 1.5GHz MediaTek processor coupled with 2GB RAM. Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro with LTE support back in May, and promised to release it before the end of this year. Today Microsoft at Future Decoded event in London has revealed some details of the 2-in-1 tablet. The company has announced that Surface Pro with LTE model will be available first to business customer on December 1, followed by consumers in early 2018. It also revealed that the Surface Pro LTE model will feature Intel Core i5 processor, and Qualcomm Snapdragon X16 modem. The LTE chip uses Cat.9 modem and offers speed of up to 450mbps and supports 20 LTE band. This means the 2-in-1 will work with a wide variety of 4G networks in any country around the world. The base model of Surface Pro LTE with an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD will be priced at $1,149. There's another model with Core i5, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD priced $1449. The other specs of the LTE model are similar to the WiFi version. The tablet runs the dated Android Marshmallow, but supports 4G VoLTE, dual-SIMs, which means, it supports voice calling. The Swipe Slate 10 Pro feature 10.1-inch display bearing the resolution 1280 x 800 pixels, and is powered by an unspecified quad-core 1.1 GHz processor paired with 2GB RAM. It comes with 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. It has 5MP rear camera with an LED flash and 2MP front facing camera. HP has introduced a new 2-in-1 tablet called ZBook x2, and claims it to be the "world's first detachable workstation" designed for creative professionals. It comes with built-in kickstand as well as a detachable keyboard. The keyboard can also be used without being attached to the tablet via Bluetooth and features Quick Keys with 18 adobe app shortcuts. The HP ZBook x2 tablet has 14-inch LED-backlit anti-glare touch display bearing a screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, and can be configured with up to an Intel Core i7-8560U Kaby Lake-R processor and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB SSD. The rugged tablet boasts IP68 water and dust resistance rating and is MIL-STD-810 certified, which means its durable enough to survive drops from up to 1.2m, as well as survive extreme pressures, temperatures and climate. Huawei sub-brand Honor just announced the mid-range Honor 7X in China with bezel-less design and dual-camera. Alongside Honor also announced a tablet called Honor WaterPlay, that boasts IP67 water and dust resistance rating. In terms of specification, the metal-clad Honor Waterplay features 10.1-inch Full HD display and is powered by octa-core Kirin 659 processor, the same chip used in Honor 7X and Maimang 6/nova 2i/Honor 9i. It comes in two RAM/Storage options – 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. microSD card is also supported for storage expansion. Following leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has been officially announced in Vietnam. Earlier it was rumored to be called Galaxy Tab A2 S, but that's not the case anymore. The tablet comes in two models: WiFI only (SM-T830) and WiFi/4G LTE (SM-T385) with voice calling functionality. It packs an additional 4400mAh battery, and comes with stereo speaker and a full size USB port to attach USB drives and hard drives. In terms of specification, the LG G Pad X2 8.0 Plus features 8-inch Full HD (1920 x 1200) display and is equipped with 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, that's expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB).

U.S based rugged device maker Caterpillar at IFA 2017 unveiled two durable smartphones: Cat S31 and Cat S41, and a rugged tablet: Cat T20. All these devices are designed to survive extreme environments and boasts rugged build, water resistance, shock proofing, military grade protection and beefy battery capacities.
Cat S31 and Cat S41 The smartphones have rubber back to withstand drops and falls, and bent edges to help cushion the fall further. They are beyond IP68 certified, which means the phones can survive in water for up to depth of two meters for up to one (Cat S31: up to 1.2 meters for up to 35 minutes). They are also drop proof for up to 1.8 meters on concrete, feature category 4 vibration proofing, and have passed MIL-STD 810G certification. There's also customizable physical buttons for push-to-talk, flashlight or camera. As for the software they are Android phones, running Nougat out of the box, and support 4G LTE and dual-SIMs.

At the ongoing IFA, 2017 in Berlin, Acer has announced a new Windows 2-in-1 tablet called Switch 7 Black Edition. The company says it is the world's first 2-in-1 tablet to be equipped with discrete graphics, which was made possible by using Acer's Dual LiquidLoop fanless cooling technology. The Switch 7 Black Editions features 13.5-inch 2256 x 1504 px IPS display and is equipped with Intel's new 8th generation Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics. It also includes an optical-based under-glass fingerprint sensor, designed with POA (Power on Authentication) that allows users to power on the device and login instantly with one touch.
