HP launches "Made for India" Pro 8 voice calling tablet
HP is launching a new Android tablet with voice calling capabilities in India called Pro 8 Tablet. The company says the tablet is "Made For India" and is designed for outdoor usage, as it is water & dust resistance and can withstand temperature from -10°C to 50°C.
The tablet comes with customizable feature that allow deliver of services, including financial inclusion and benefit schemes. It is aimed at ensuring efficient delivery of subsidized food products under the Public Distribution System (PDS), comprehensive monitoring of various healthcare initiatives and several other flagship programmes run by the central and state governments.
It offers host of customizable configurations like iris and fingerprint scanner for Aadhaar-based authentication, thermal printer and magnetic-strip reader for financial transactions and bar code scanner for inventory management.
In terms of specifications, the HP Pro 8 Tablet features 8-inch WXGA display bearing the resolution 1280 x 800 pixels, that's readable outdoor even under direct sunlight. It is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8735 processor with 2GB RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage.
It has 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, and is fueled by 6000mAh battery, that promises up to 15 hours of run time. Connectivity options include 4G LTE (with voice calling), single SIM slot, microSD card slot, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and GPS. It runs Android Marshmallow and has support for regional languages.
The HP Pro 8 Tablet price starts at Rs. 19,374.
