Acer Predator 21 X curved screen gaming laptop lands in India for Rs. 6,99,999


Acer has launched the company's gaming beast, the Predator 21 X notebook in India sporting a curved screen. It has been priced at whooping Rs. 699,999 and is now available for pre-order via Flipkart. Acer will only make 500 units available, and shipping will start December 18. It also comes bundled with a custom hard-shell carrying trolley case.

The Acer Predator 21 X sports a 21-inch curved IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels. It also has Tobi infrared eye-tracking sensors in the display, which lets you control compatible games without using a controller.

The processing power is handled by 7th-gen Intel's Kaby Lake processor and has two 16GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card with SLI, which makes it VR-ready. It can be configured with up to 64GB DDR4 RAM and comes with up to four 512GB SSD,and has room for another 1TB HDD. To keep the machine cool during long gaming sessions, it has five fans with several heat pipes.

It includes 2T2R 802.11ac + Bluetooth WiFi module, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 2 x USB 3.0 portsa USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 3 support, HDMI, microSD card reader and 2 x DisplayPort for connectivity. There's an IR camera as well for Windows Hello secure login.

It has  full-sized mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches, with programmable backlit keys, allowing you to customize the LEDs in 16.7 million color options. To offer enhanced sound experience, the laptop features  3-way (tweeter, midrange, woofer) audio design for Hi-Fi quality sound and is powered by 4 speakers (2 tweeters, 2 midrange) and 2 subwoofers to produce a full spectrum of sound.

The laptop comes pre-loaded with PredatorSense software,  that allows users to control and customize central interface, overclocking, lighting and fan control.

Acer Mixed Reality headset launched in India


Last year in October, Microsoft announced that it will bring affordable Windows 10 compatible Mix Reality headset to market in partnership with various PC makers starting at $299 (Rs. 20,000). These Mixed Reality headset started shipping earlier this year in the U.S, Canada, Europe and UK, and now it has reached Indian shores.

Acer at the grand finale of its Predator league event in Bengaluru announced the the first Windows Mixed Reality headset for the Indian market. Sadly the pricing the was not revealed but it should cost under Rs. 25,000.

The Acer Mixed Reality headset comes with double-padded headband and adjustment knob making it comfortable to wear. It features  inside-out tracking, so you don't need to set up external cameras or IR emitter to have a immersive experience as you move with six degrees of freedom in mixed-reality.

It sports two high-resolution liquid crystal display at 1440 x 1440, 95-degree horizontal field of view, refresh rate of up to 90 Hz, front hinged display, 3.5mm audio and mic jack. The headset has a 13-foot cable to provide more freedom to move around, and connects to PC via HDMI 2.0, while a USB 3.0 connector downloads data.

The headset will ship with optional motion controllers that's equipped with buttons, sensors, and grips to let you interact with virtual environment using hand and arm motions. The motion controllers offer precise and responsive tracking of movement in your field of view using the sensors in your headset. The headset/motion controller bundle will cost more than the standalone headset.

System requirements
The headset requires Windows 10 Creators update, and Acer recommends a system with Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 1700 CPU, NVIDIA GTX 980/1060 or AMD Radeon RX 480 GPU and 16GB RAM or more. The system should also have 10GB additional free space, HDMI/DisplayPort, a USB 3.0 Type-A port and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.

Acer launches ultra-thin Predator Triton 700 gaming laptop in India for Rs. 299,999


Acer has launched its flagship high-end gaming notebook in India called Predator Triton 700. The gaming laptop has been priced at Rs. 2,99,999, and will be available in the country via Acer Exclusive stores and authorized online stores.

The Predator Triton 700 houses best-in-class technologies, for thin yet powerful, no compromise gaming notebook. Even with heavy computing power inside the laptop has a thickness of just 18.9mm, which was achieved using NVIDIA's Max-Q technology and AeroBlade 3D metal fans. These fans take less space inside the laptop and are capable on increasing airflow by 35 percent, compared to conventional fans.

As for the specifications, the Predator Triton 700 features 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with 120Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-Sync technology. It is powered by 7th generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor and packs NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 overclockable GPU, two 512GB NVMe PCIe SSDs in RAID 0 configuration and 16GB of 2400MHz DDR4 RAM (upgradeable up to 32GB).

It has Thunderbolt 3 connectivity that supports dual-4K video out put, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI 2.0 port, a DisplayPort connector, Gigabit Ethernet, and Killer DoubleShot Pro (provides speed up to 40Gbps).

The Predeator Triton 700 is VR-ready and also comes with Dolby Atmos surround sound and Acer TrueHarmony to deliver an immersive audio experience, Skpye For Business certification, RGB keyboard and Precision Touchpad.

A large Corning Gorilla Glass plate is placed above the RGB-backlit mechanical keyboard that serves as a window into the notebook’s cooling system, showcasing the AeroBlade 3D Fan and five heat pipes. The Gorilla glass panel also doubles as trackpad. The laptop weighs 2.6kg, and packs by a 4670mAh battery rated to deliver up to five hours of battery life.

Acer outs its slimmest ever All-in-One Aspire S24


Alongside, refreshed laptops, 2-in-1's, 360-degree camera and convertible, Acer also announced an All-in-One PC called Aspire S24. It's display has a side profile of just 5.97 mm, making it the slimmest ever and boasts 2.7mm ultra narrow bezel for a screen to body ratio of 90 percent.

The Acer Aspire S24 features 23.8-inch Full HD display IPS display with 178-degree viewing angles. The display can till -5 to 30 degree, and include ExaColor technology for accurate colors and BluelightShield and Flickerless technologies to help prevet eye fatigue. 

The AIO PC comes with the option of 8th Generation Intel Core i7 8550U or Core i5 8250U processor, up to 32GB DDR4 RAM, up to 2TB HDD, up to 256GB SSD, and Intel Optane memory.

It also has a wireless charging area on the base that support charging for Qi-enabled devices. Other features include WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and 2.1 channel subwoofer backed by Dolby Audio Premium.

The Acer Aspire S24 will be available in North America in January 2018 starting at $999; and in EMEA in November 2017 starting at €999.

Acer announces Holo360 and Vision360 LTE connected cameras


Acer at IFA 2017, Berlin has announced two LTE-connected 360 degree cameras: Holo360 for daily use and Vision360 for automobiles.

The Holo 360 camera is an all-in-one camera that allows users to capture, view, edit and share with just one device. The dual 16MP Sony IMX298 camera sensors can capture high-quality photos at 6.9K resolution, and videos at 4K. 

Running Android Nougat, it features a 3-inch touchscreen display, and is equipped with Snapdragon 625 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and LTE connectivity to provide an all-in-one solution to live stream 360-degree videos. You can also share the captured 360-degree photos and video directly to social networks. The camera also gets Panomorphic optics certified by ImmerVision, that can capture high-res images across the field of view without distortion. 


The Vision360 is a cloud-connected in-car camera with two ultra-high quality cameras. The cameras work together to produce 360-degree footage in 4K quality. It can be mounted on the windshield, aligned with the driver's eyes, and also display's the vehicle's current speed. It  provides users with on-demand remote viewing and location-tracking from the device.

The camera automatically records when something collides with your vehicle that will also include GPS co-ordinates of the place where the incident occurred. It will also start recording when collision is detected when the vehicle is parked, and notify the users through a smartphone alert. The recordings are saved on the camera's 16GB internal storage, and is also uploaded to the cloud to access later.

The Holo360 connected camera will be available in North America in November at $429 bundled with a water-resistant case; and in EMEA in Q4 with prices starting at €349. Acer did not reveal the pricing and availability of Vision360 yet.

Acer upgrades Switch 5 laptop, Spin 5 convertible with 8th generation Intel processor


Acer is giving its Swift 5 laptop and Spin 5 convertible an upgrade to the new 8th generation Intel Core quad-core processor.

First the Swift 5 is a light-weight laptop made of sophisticated selection of materials including ultra-light magnesium-lithium alloys for the top and bottom cover, and magnesium-aluminum alloys for extra sturdiness on the palm rest area. It weighs less than 1kg.

The Swift 5 features 14-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display, and can be configured with up to a Core i7-8550U processor, up to 16GB RAM, and up to 512GB PCIe SSD. 

Acer says it promises up to eight hours of battery life and has support for WiFi 802.11ac and Windows Hello via fingerprint scanner. It also features Acer's TrueHarmony with Dolby Audio Premium technology.

The Acer Swift 5 will be available in North America in December starting at $999; in EMEA starting at €1,099; and in China in November starting at ¥7,499. 


Next is the Spin 5 convertible with a 360-degree hinge that lets users use the device as tablet or laptop or in display or tent mode. It comes 13-inch and 15-inch model, and both supports Full HD touch display, 8th generation Intel Core quad-core processor, up to 16GB RAM, and optional Acer Active Stylus. 

The 13-inch Spin 5 offers 13 hours of battery life, while the 15-inch model promises up to 10 hours of battery life, and gets an option for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics.

The Acer Spin 5 will be available in North America in September with both the 13-inch and 15-inch models starting at $799; and in EMEA in September with the 13-inch model starting at €899 and the 15-inch model starting at €999.

Acer Switch 7 Black Edition is a fanless 2-in-1 tablet with discrete NVIDIA graphics


At the ongoing IFA, 2017 in Berlin, Acer has announced a new Windows 2-in-1 tablet called Switch 7 Black Edition. The company says it is the world's first 2-in-1 tablet to be equipped with discrete graphics, which was made possible by using Acer's Dual LiquidLoop fanless cooling technology.

The Switch 7 Black Editions features 13.5-inch 2256 x 1504 px IPS display and is equipped with Intel's new 8th generation Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics. It also includes an optical-based under-glass fingerprint sensor, designed with POA (Power on Authentication) that allows users to power on the device and login instantly with one touch.

The 2-in-1 comes with a battery-free stylus powered by Wacom EMR technology, that has 4096 level of pressure sensitivity and pen tilt support to control the angle, width or shading of the stroke. 

Other features include lightweight brushed aluminum body, a kickstand, detachable backlit keyboard, WiFi 802.11ac and Dolby Audio.

The Acer Switch 7 Black Edition will be available in North America in December with prices starting at $1,699; and in EMEA starting at €1,999.

Acer's new Chromebook 15 boasts aluminum design and up to 12 hours of battery life


Acer is refreshing its Chromebook 15 in terms of hardware and build quality. The new Chromebook sports an  aluminum design and is thinner and lighter than the previous model. It measures 378 W x 256 D x 18.9 H mm (14.88 W x 10.08 D x 0.74 H inches) and weighs 1.72 kg (3.79 pounds).

The Acer Chromebook 15 has 15.6-inch Full HD display, and comes with the option of touch screen (CB515-1HT) or non-touch (CB515-1H). It can be configured with the latest "dual-core Intel Celeron and quad-core Intel Pentium processor", with 4GB or 8GB RAM, and 32GB or 64GB storage.

Connectivity options are WiFi 802.11ac featuring 2x2 MIMO technology, Bluetooth 4.2, 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C ports, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, and HDMI port, a headphone/speaker combo jack and SD card reader.

Other features include upward facing speakers surrounding the keyboard, support for Android apps via Google Play Store, HD Webcam w/ wide 88-degree field of view, full sized keyboard & large touchpad and up to 12 hours of battery life.

The Acer Chromebook price starts at $399 in North America, and €499 in EMEA, and will be available sometime in October.

Acer Nitro 5 Spin convertible with 8th gen Core i7 processor announced


Acer has announced a new convertible notebook designed for casual gamers called Nitro 5 Spin, featuring Intel's new 8th generation Core i7 Kaby Lake-R processor. It flaunts all-aluminum chassis with black brushed hairline finish and red accents.

The Acer Nitro 5 Spin features 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display and a 360-degree hinge, that lets you use the laptop in tablet, stand or tent modes. It packs up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 GPU, and up to 512GB PCIe SSD.

It houses stereo front-facing speakers with a subwoofer, HD Webcam, backlit keyboard 2 x USB 3.1 Type-A port, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, an HDMI port, while the wireless connection is handled by WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth. It supports Windows Hello and offers up to 10 hours of battery life.

The Acer Nitro 5 Spin will be available in October in North America starting at $999 (Rs. 64,000), and in EMEA region starting 1199 Euros (Rs. 90,200).

Acer Predator Helio 300 gaming laptop launched in India, price starts at Rs. 1,29,999


Last month Acer released Nitro 5 budget gaming notebook in India. But if you're looking for something more premium and powerful, Acer is now launching the Predator Helios 300.

The Predator Helios 300 features 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display and sports a premium matte black chassis with red accents. To keep the operations cool during heavy gaming session, the gaming laptop is fitted with dual-fan system called AeroBlade 3D Fan, with ultra-thin metal blades at only 0.1mm.

Acer will offer the Predator Helios 300 with the option of 7th gen Intel Core i7 (7700HQ) or Core i5 (7300HQ) processors, and overclockable NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or 1050Ti graphics processor. It packs up to 16GB DDR4 RAM (upgradable to 32GB) and comes with 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD storage combination.

The ports on-board include a USB 3.1 Type-c port, a USB 3.0 port (with power-off charging), 2 x USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, Gigabit Ethernet port for wired connection and WiFi 802.11ac. Other features include Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony for rich audio experience and backlit keyboard.

The Acer Predator Helio 300 will be exclusively available on Flipkart from August 17 starting at Rs. 1,29,999.

Acer Chromebook 11 C771 with rugged design announced, starts at $280


Acer has announced a new budget Chromebook designed for classroom use. Dubbed Chromebook 11 C771, the laptop is able to withstand daily classroom abuse thanks to its rugged design. It is resistant to dust and water, and can survive drops from about a four feet and withstand up to 132 pounds of downward force. It also includes a spill resistant keyboard.

The Chromebook 11 C771 sports an 11.6-inch IPS display bearing the resolution 1366 x 768 pixels, and has a 180-degree hinge, so that it rests 180-degree flat on the work surface. It is equipped with sixth genration Intel Celeron processor (3855U), 32GB storage and supports up to 4GB RAM. 

Acer is offering touch (C771T) and non-touch screen (C771) models of the device. The touch screen model is rated to deliver up to 12 hours of run time, and the non-touchscreen model will run for up to 13 hours on a single charge.

Each model features a 720p HDR webcam, stereo speakers, microSD card rearder, WiFi 802.11ac, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port and 3.5mm audio jacks. The Chromebook is is about 0.8-inches thick and weighs 1.35kg.

The Chromebook C771 (non-touch model)  is priced at $279.99, while the touch model (C771T) costs $329.99, and is now available in the U.S. Acer says it will also release the C711 with 6th genration Core i3 and i5 in September.

Acer launches Nitro 5 gaming laptop in India starting at Rs. 75,990


Acer is launching the Nitro 5, its mid-range powerful gaming laptop in India. The laptop will be available through Flipkart and Acer Stores starting at Rs. 75,990. 

The Nitro 5 is encased in a matte black chassis with hairline finish, and includes red backlit keyboard and red outlined WSAD keys and touch pad. It boots Windows 10.

Acer will offer Nitro 5 in various configuration in terms of graphics and processor, providing gamers with a wide selection to meet their budget as well as gaming needs.

The Nitro 5 will be available with the option 7th gen Intel Core i7 or i5 Kaby Lake processor, and graphics option of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti.

All the models will feature 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display, 16GB RAM and 128GB SSD + TBB HDD combination. It also has Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony technology to deliver incredible sound depths. 

Connectivity options on-board include a USB 3.1 Type-c port, a USB 3.0 port (with power-off charging), 2 x USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port (up to 90 Hz refresh rates), Gigabit Ethernet port and WiFi 802.11ac.

Asus unveils consumer-oriented Chromebook Flip C101, education-focused Chromebook Flip C213NA


Asus at Computex 2017, Taipei unveiled two new budget convertible Chromebooks: Chromebook Flip C101 and Chromebook Flip C213NA. Both convertible have a 360-degree hinge, that lets you fold the screen all the way back to transform the notebook into a tablet or stand or tent.

The Asus Chromebook Flip C101 is a follow up to the Chromebook Flip C100, which was released in 2015. It sports the same design as its predecessor, and also includes the 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 pixel touch screen display. 

But there are two major upgrades. The new model is equipped with a slightly faster six-core Rockchip RK3399 processor instead of quad-core RK3288 chip. Also its gets two USB Type-C ports, instead of two USB 2.0 Type-A ports. However, there's a USB 3.0 Type-A port, a headphone jack and microSD card slot. It will also have Google Play Store and support for Android apps.

It is expected to to ship soon, for around the same price as its predecessor, which is $300 or less, and will be offered with the option of 2GB or 3GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage. 

The Asus Chromebook Flip C213NA on the other hand is aimed at education market. It sports a rugged design to withstand daily classroom abuse, and comes with spill resistant keyboard.

It features 11.6 1600 x 900 pixel display and is powered by Intel Celeron N3350 Apollo Lake processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB eMMC storage. Other features include WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, 2 x USB 3.0 Type-C ports, 2 x USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a headphone jack, a microphone, microSD card reader and stereo speakers.

It comes with two camera, one a front facing, and the other built into the top of the keyboard part. This camera can be used when you use the convertible in tent mode, so the screen in facing you and the camera is facing away, allowing you to record lecture.

There is no word on pricing and availability details.

Acer announces Nitro 5 budget gaming laptop


Acer has announced a new budget gaming laptop dubbed Nitro 5 aimed at casual gamers. The company will offer the Nitro 5 in various configuration in terms of graphics and processor, providing gamers with a wide selection to meet their budget as well as gaming needs.

The Nitro 5 will be available with the option 7th gen Intel Core i7 or i5 processor, with up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, or models with AMD A-Series FX, A12 or A10 APUs with AMD Radeon RX550 graphics. 

All these models will run Windows 10, comes with 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display and support up to 32GB DDR4 2400 MHz memory, up to 510GB PCIe SSD and up to 2TB HDD. Select models will come with combination of both PCIe SSD and HDD storage.

Connectivity options on-board include a USB 3.1 Type-c port, a USB 3.0 port (with power-off charging), 2 x USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port (up to 90 Hz refresh rates), Gigabit Ethernet port and WiFi 802.11ac. It also includes Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony technology to deliver incredible sound depths. The keyboard features red backlighting and the WASD keys and touchpad are also outlined in red.

The gaming laptop is also fitted with dual-fans with Acer Coolboost technology, that allows gamers to manually control the cooling process, while playing games with heavy graphics. 

The Acer Nitro 5 will be available in North Ameria in July with prices starting at $799 (Rs. 51,500), in EMEA from August starting at €1,099 (Rs. 79,500) and in China from July starting at CNY 5499 (Rs. 51,600).

Acer unveils the ultra-slim Spin 1 Windows 10 convertible laptop


Acer is refreshing its Spin line of convertible laptop with a new version of the budget Spin 1. It is lightweight, portable and comes with metal chassis, touch screen, Windows 10 and 360-degree hinge, that lets you prop the device in four modes including laptop, display, tablet or tent. It also supports Windows Ink through an Active Stylus.

The new Acer Spin 1 features 11.6-inch Full HD IPS display with 178-degrees wide angles and the configuration options include Intel Pentium or Intel Celeron processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM and 32GB, 64GB or 128GB eMMC storage. It provides up to eight hours of battery life.

In terms of connectivity, the convertible includes a USB 3.1 port, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI port, microSD (SDXC) card slot, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11ac.

Other specs include Precision Touchpad with Windows 10 gestures support, Acer BluelightShield to reduce eye strain, and stereo speakers with Acer's TrueHarmony technology for immersive sound experience.

The Acer Spin 1 will be available in North America in July with prices starting at $329 (Rs. 21,000) and in EMEA in July with prices starting at €399 (Rs. 29,000).

Acer Iconia Tab 10 w/ Quantum Dot technology, Iconia One 10 w/ dual micro-USB port tablets announced


Ahead of Computex 2017, Taipei, Acer has introduced two new 10-inch tablets dubbed Iconia Tab 10 (A3-A50) and Iconia One 10 (B3-A40FHD). Both tablets are powered by quad-core MediaTek chip, run Android Nougat and offer eight hours of battery life.

The standout tablet among the pair is the Iconia Tab 10, which is designed for media-consumption. It comes with 10-inch Full HD display with Quantum Dot technology, a tech that features in TV, and promises a wider color range with higher brightness, deeper saturation and better accuracy.



It also boasts four speaker and a sub-woofer, that delivers clear and rich sound for an immersive audio experience. It also comes with Acer's MediaMaster technology, which lets you tune the audio and video settings in various mode.802.11ac.



The Acer Iconia One 10 is designed for productivity, and comes with more connectivity options and features like multi-windows and quick app switching. It also has a dual micro-USB ports, and OTG support, so that you can charge the tablet, while keeping external devices like hard drives, pen drives, mouse or other accessory connected at the same time. In terms of specs, the tablet has 10-inch Full HD IPS display, quad-core MediaTek MT8167 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

Both tablets also feature five-magnet speakers with DTS-HD Premium Sound for great-audio visual experience, and WiFi 802.11ac for blazing fast network connections.

Unfortunately Acer did not reveal the full specs sheet of the tablet, as well as the pricing and availability details.

Acer, HP announces Windows 10 S laptops for $299


Microsoft yesterday announced a new locked-down version of Windows 10 called Windows 10 S, and a new Surface Laptop with the new operating system costing $999 (starting price), aimed at the students and education sector. 

The Surface Laptop is no cheap, when compared to Chromebooks' price, given that it is aimed at education. But it's PCs from partners ㅡ Acer, Asus, Dell, Fujitsu, Samsung, HP ㅡ that will take on Chromebooks, which are growing in popularity in schools.

Microsoft has promised that Windows 10 S will ship on third-party laptops priced as low as $189, and  Acer and HP have already announced affordable versions of existing laptops running Windows 10 S, aimed at education.



Acer has introduced a new version of its TravelMate Spin B1 convertible (model number B118) with Windows 10 S featuring 11.6-inch Full HD display, Intel Celeraon processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It has 360-degree hinge, a touchscreen display, spill resistant keyboard and up to 13 hours of battery life. 

The convertible supports WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 and includes a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI port, SD card reader and headphone jack. It carries a price tag of $300 and comes with an Active Stylus Pen.

Acer's Predator Helios 300 is a new line of budget gaming notebooks


Besides the ultrathin and powerful high-end Predator Triton 700, Acer at its global event in New York also introduced a budget Predator series gaming notebook called Predator Helios 300 at Acer's global press conference in New York. The company says, the predator Helios 300 offers powerful innards at mid-range price point, making gaming notebooks accessible than ever.

Acer will offer the Predator Helios 300 in 15.6 or 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display models with the option of 7th Gen Intel Core i7 (7700HQ) or Core i5 (7300HQ) processor, an overclockable NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or 1050Ti graphics card and up to 16GB DDR4 RAM (upgadable to 32GB). For storage, it will house 1TB HDD and speed SATA SSD. Also there's an access compartment doors on the bottom of the notebooks to make it easy to upgrade memory and storage.

The gaming notebook has a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, 2x2 802.11ac for wireless connectivity, and Gigabit Ethernet for wired connection. It also comes with Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony to deliver immersive audio with crisp, rich acoustics.

Running Windows 10, the Predator Helios 300 sports a matte black chassis with red accents and comes with an iron red backlit keyboard. Selected model will have a metal top cover and keyboard area for added strength and rigidity. 

Like the Triton 300, to keep the system running at optimal temperatures while playing games, Acer has fitted a dual-fan system called AeroBlade 3D Fan, with ultra-thin metal blades. It also comes pre-loaded with Acer's PredatorSense software to provide real-time system information and overclocking, for montoring  and controlling the system's vital from one central interface.

The Predator Helios 300 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch gaming notebook models will be available in North America in July starting at $1299 and $1399 respectively; in EMEA in August starting at €1,199; and in China starting at CNY 1199 in July.

Acer Predator Triton 700 is VR-ready ultrathin gaming notebook


Acer at its next@acer press event, New York held on Thursday, unleashed its next Predator series powerful gaming notebook called the Predator Triton 700. The company says that its latest Predator gaming notebook houses best-in-class technologies for a thin yet powerful, no-compromise gaming notebook.

The Predator Triton features 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by 7th generation Intel Core processor with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series graphics card, up to 32GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM and two NVMe PCIe1 SSDs in RAID 0 configuration. It has Thunderbolt 3 connectivity that supports dual-4K video out put, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI 2.0 port, a DisplayPort connector, Gigabit Ethernet, and Killer DoubleShot Pro (provides speed up to 40Gbps).

A large Corning Gorilla Glass plate is placed above the RGB-backlit mechanical keyboard that serves as a window into the notebook’s cooling system, showcasing the AeroBlade 3D Fan and five heat pipes. The cooling system helps keep the device running nice and cool, even when the action heats up. The Gorilla glass panel also doubles as trackpad.

All this is housed in a black aluminum chassis offering a minimalistic design with straight contours and angular front corners, and thanks to the AeroBlade 3D Fan, without sacrificing thermals and computing power inside, the notebook gets an ultra-thin form factor measuring a svelte 0.74 inches (18.9mm) and weighing 2.6kg (5.7 pounds).

Acer says "Our industry-leading AeroBlade 3D Fan with metal blades provides ultimate thermal performance, which allows us to pack massive computing power inside this ultra-thin form factor without compromise."

The gaming notebook is VR-radey and also includes Acer TrueHarmony to deliver immersive audio experience, NVIDIA G-SYNC monitor support and comes pre-loaded with PredatoreSense software, that lets games to control and customize the notebooks vitals from one central interface incluing lighting, hotkeys, fan control and general system monitoring.

The Predator Triton 700 gaming notebook will be available in North America in August starting at $2,999; and in EMEA in August starting at €3,399. Exact specifications, prices, and availability will vary by region.

Acer Swift 1, Swift 3 are ultraslim, lightweight notebooks for the masses


Acer at its  next@acer global press conference in New York introduced two new Swift series ultrathin notebooks ― Swift 1 and Swift 3.

The notebooks feature fingerprint scanner to support Microsoft's Windows Hello function for fast and secure logins, Acer's BluelightShield to control how much blue light is emitted from screen for reducing eye strain and Acer TrueHarmony, to deliver life like audio for a richer and immersive media enjoyment experience.

The Acer Swift 1 is a ultrathin budget notebook aimed at student featuring 13.3-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by Intel Pentium or Celeron processor with 4GB RAM, and comes in SSD or eMMC storage options of 64GB, 128GB, 256GB. It offer up to 10 hours of battery life, weighs 1.3kg, and sports all-metal chassis which comes with the option Pure Silver, Luxury Gold and Sakura Pink color.

The Swift 1 series will be available in North America in June with prices starting at $329; in EMEA in June with prices starting at €399; and in China in April starting at ¥3,499.



The Acer Swift 3 also sports a sleek and lightweight design weighing 1.8kg and sporting a sturdy brushed-aluminum body and offers powerful performance that's ideal for getting most of the things done.

It comes with the options of 14-inch or 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display and is equipped with up to 7th generation Intel Core processor w/ Intel HD or NVIDIA GeForce graphics, up to 8GB RAM and storage options of storage options of either up to 512GB SSD or up to 1TB HDD. The notebook promises up to 10 hours of battery life and includes USB 3.1 Type-C port, an HD webcam w/ HDR, 2x2 MIMO 802.11ac WiFi and optional backlit keyboard w/ Precision Touchpad.

There's also a special edition of Swift 3 that sport a top cover with Vibrant Corning Gorilla Glass, providing the unique flexibility to customize the top cover with photo-realistic images that are highly durable and damage-resistant.

The Swift 3 series will be available in North America in June with prices starting at $599; in EMEA in June with prices starting at €649; and in China in April starting at ¥3,999.
