Honor View 10 registration now open on Amazon India


Huawei sub-brand Honor introduced the Honor View 10 flagship at an event in London earlier this month, and confirmed that the phone will launch in several countries including India in January.

And now ahead of local launch, Honor has started taking registrations of the View 10 on Amazon India. Currently there is just 'Notify me' option on Amazon India. The sale is expected to start on January 8. 

Honor View 10 features and specifications
The Honor View 10 comes with 5.9-inch Full HD+ full screen 18:9 display and is powered by octa-core Kirin 970 processor, which is aided by a dedicated NPU (neural processing unit) processor for enhanced A.I capabilities. The phone comes in three RAM/storage configurations: 4GB/64GB, 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. However, it is not known which model will be available in India. The storage is expandable via microSD card.


It ships with dual-rear camera, that consists of a 16MP RGB sensor and 20MP monochrome sensor, and the cameras work in tandem with neural processing unit to offer real-time scene and object recognition functionality as well as automatically choose the best camera settings for any environment or focal point for enhanced photography experience. The rear camera also boasts f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, PDAF, CAF, and 4K video recording capabilities. The front facing unit houses 13MP f/2.0 camera sensor and feature A.I selfie portraits and face unlock.

The phone runs Android 8.0 based Emotion UI 8.0, and supports dual-SIMs (hybrid slot), 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C and NFC for connectivity. It is fueled by 3750mAh battery, and supports Super Charge fast charging technology that promises 0 to 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes. Color options are Midnight Black and Navy Blue.

At the time of global announcement, Honor revealed that the phone will cost 499 Euros (Rs. 38,000) in Europe. So in India, the pricing can be expected to be around Rs. 45,000. Apart from India the Honor View 10 will also release in the United States.

Honor 9 Lite goes official with four cameras, Android Oreo


Huawei recently launched the Enjoy 7S in China with dual-rear camera, 18:9 display and more. And now the company's sub-brand Honor has unveiled a new phone, which is downgraded version of Honor 9: Honor 9 Lite (referred as Honor 9 Youth Edition in China). The specs of Honor 9 Lite are almost same as Enjoy 7S, but the former gets dual selfie camera.

The Honor 9 Lite features 5.65-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass on top, and is powered by Huawei's in-house octa-core Kirin 659 processor that's further aided by Mali T830-MP2 GPU. It comes in  three RAM/storage variant: 3GB/32GB, 4GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. The storage is further expandable via microSD card.

The camera department include 13MP+2MP rear camera assisted by an LED flash, while the front facing camera unit houses 13MP+2MP setup. The secondary 2MP sensor accompanying the primary 13MP sensor helps to capture depth information enhance bokeh and portrait imaging.

The phone runs Android Oreo based EMUI 8.0 and supports dual-SIMs, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth and WiFi. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery, and the rear panel houses a fingerprint scanner.

Coming to the pricing, the 3GB/32GB Honor 9 Lite has been priced at CNY 1199 (Rs. 12,000 | $ 182), the 4GB/32GB model is priced CNY 1499 (Rs. 14,500 | $227) and the top 4GB/64GB model carries a price tag of CNY 1799 (Rs. 17,500 | $273). 

The Honor 9 Lite will go on sale in China starting December 26 in Navy Blue, Seagull Gray, Magic Nightfall and Pearl White. It will also be released in 14 international market including India, Russia and UK.

Honor 9 Lite with dual front & rear cameras, Android Oreo to be announced on December 21


Huawei will unveil a new budget phone, the Enjoy 7S in China on December 18. A few days later on December 21, Huawei's sub-brand Honor will also introduce a new budget phone called Honor 9 Lite in home country.

As with all China devices before release, the Honor 9 Lite has been certified by China's TENAA, and the specs and design is already known.

Interestingly the Honor 9 Lite will have the same specs as Enjoy 7S, but pack only 4GB RAM and include dual-front cameras (13MP+2MP). As a reminder, the Enjoy 7S is expected to come with 3GB/4GB RAM and single front camera. The design is also different, however, similar to Enjoy 7S, the Honor 9 Lite will also have minimal bezels on the sides of the display. The main design change is seen at the back.

Deal: Honor 8 Pro, Honor 6X gets up to Rs. 4000 discount for a limited time


Honor has announced a price cut of up to Rs. 4000 on Honor 6X and Honor 8 Pro in India. This is a limited period offer starting today exclusively on Amazon India and ends on December 19.

The Honor 6X comes in two variants and were currently selling at Rs. 11,999 for the 3GB/32GB model and Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB/64GB model. Now both models have received Rs. 2000 price cut, and are available at Rs. 9999 and Rs. 11,999 respectively.

To recap the specs, the Honor 6X comes with dual rear cameras — 12MP Sony IMX386 PDAF unit + secondary 2MP unit for achieving depth of field and background blur— with an LED flash and PDAF. Other specs include 5.5-inch Full HD display, octa-core Kirin 655 processor, 8MP selfie camera, fingerprint scanner, 4G with VoLTE and 3340mAh battery. It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1 update soon.

The Honor 8 Pro on the other hand was launched at Rs. 29,999. But the phone is now getting Rs. 4000 price drop, and will be up for grabs at Rs. 25,999.

To recollect, the Honor 8 Pro is a flagship device boasting high-end specs. It has dual camera system that consists of 12MP (Monochrome) + 12MP (RGB) sensors and are also capable of capturing 3D creative photos, which can be used to make 3D prints. The rear cameras features f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, laser auto-focus, dual-LED flash and is capable of recording 4K videos.

As for the other specs, the Honor 8 Pro features 5.7-inch QHD display, 2.4GHz octa-core Hi-Silicon Kirin 960 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage, 8MP selfie camera, NFC, USB Type-C, fingerprint scanner and 4000mAh battery. It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1, bit will soon get Android Oreo.

Honor V10 goes global as Honor View 10, launches January 8 2018


Besides the mid-range Honor 7X, Huawei sub-brand Honor at its London event also launched the flagship Honor V10 for the global market. To remind you, the Honor V10 was introduced in China last week featuring near bezel-less design and dual-cameras. Having said that, Honor V10 will release as Honor View 10 in India, U.S and Europe in January.

The Honor View 10 will carry a price tag of 499 Euros in Europe and 449 Pound in UK. (around $600 | Rs. 39,000). It will be available in Black and Blue colors and roll out in United Kingdom, France, Germany, India, Italy, Russia, Spain and United States starting from January 8, 2018. We should know the India pricing close to local launch. 

Honor V10 features and specifications

It has no bezels on the side, and minimal bezels on top and bottom, , so the display covers most of the front panel. Honor 7X launches in India, Europe and the U.S


Huawei sub-brand Honor released the mid-range near bezel-less Honor 7X in China in October this year. Now at an event in London, Honor has announced the Honor 7X for the global market including the US, Europe and India.

For the Indian market, the Honor 7X will pack 4GB RAM and will be available in two models: 32GB storage variant priced at Rs. 12,999 and 64GB variant at Rs. 15,999. It will be available exclusively on Amazon India starting December 7 at 12pm, as well as Honor India store. Color options include Black, Blue and Gold colors.

While India is getting the 4GB RAM model, in the U.S Honor will offer the 3GB RAM model with 32GB internal storage, and will carry a price tag of $199. It is now up for pre-order from Honor U.S website and shipping will begin December 15. The European market will get 4GB/64GB Honor 7X and it will cost €299.

The Honor 7X features 5.93-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio and minimal bezels on the side. It is powered by 2.36GHz octa-core Kirin 659 processor backed by Mali-T830 GPU and 4GB RAM. There's also support for microSD card for storage expansion.

For photography, it gets 16MP and 2MP dual-cameras at the back, with the secondary camera calculating the depth of an image to provide bokeh effect. The selfie camera at the front is an 8MP unit. 

In terms of connectivity there's hybrid dual-SIM slot, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1 and is fueled by 3340mAh battery.

Honor V10 with full screen display, dual-cameras goes official


As expected, Huawei sub-brand Honor has officially announced its latest flagship, the Honor V10 in China. Thanks to leaks we already knew what to expect from the phone.

The Honor V10 flaunts the now trending bezel-free design and a large display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It has no bezels on the side, and minimal bezels on top and bottom, , so the display covers most of the front panel. The phone is now available for order in China in Black, Aurora Blue, Gold and Red colors, and will go on sale starting December 5. The Honor V10 is also expected to be released globally on December 5.

Honor V10 gets certified by China's TENAA


Just a day ahead of its official unveiling, the Honor V10 carrying model number BKL-AL20 has been certified by China's TENAA, revealing specs and design. In addition the phone was also spotted on Geekbench.

As seen in the image posted on TENAA, the Honor V10 will have a near bezel-less design and a large display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Interestingly, even with the bezels trimmed down, Honor has managed to squeeze in a fingerprint scanner/home button below the screen. To remind you, the recently TENAA certified Nova 3 also had a similar front panel design. At the back it has dual-cameras, metal build and  antenna lines running on the top and bottom.

As for the specs, the TENAA/Geekbench listing combined reveals that Honor V10 will be powered by octa-core Krin 970 processor, pack 6GB RAM and run Android Oreo based EMUI 8.0 out-of-the box.

The TENAA listing reveals the rest of the specs sheet. The Honor V10 will ship with 5.99-inch Full HD+ FullView display, 20MP+16MP dual-cameras, 13MP selfie camera and 3650mAh battery. It is said to come with 64GB or 128GB storage options and supports dual-SIMs (hybrid slot), 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type-C. The color options are Black, Blue, Red and Gold.

Since TENAA has been reliable source for leaks, the specs listed is likely to be final. The remaining details like availability and pricing will be revealed tomorrow, November 28, at the Honor V10 event in China. The phone is also expected to launch globally on December 5.

Price drop: Honor 8 Lite now available for Rs. 15,999 in India


Huawei sub-brand Honor has dropped the price of Honor 8 Lite in India by Rs. 2,000. It was launched in the country back in May priced at Rs. 17,999, but is now available for Rs. 15,999. The price drop is permanent, and at the new price the Honor 8 Lite is now available via major offline mobile stores in Black and Blue colors.

To recap the specs, the Honor 8 Lite features 5.2-inch Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass protection. It is equipped with octa-core Kirin 655 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which can expanded via microSD card. 

In the camera department, it include 12MP f/2.2 rear camera, and 8MP front facing shooter, while a 3000mAh battery provides the deive juice to run. It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.0 and supports dual-SIMs and 4G VoLTE. The phone also has a fingerprint scanner.

The price cut comes just ahead of the launch of Honor 7X in India. Featuring near bezel-less design, 18:9 display and dual-cameras, the Honor 7X will be launched in the country next month. It will be an Amazon India exclusive.

Honor V10 to debut in China on November 28


Huawei sub-brand Honor has sent out invites for an event scheduled for November 28 in China for the unveiling of the brand's latest flagship Honor V10. The teaser shared by Honor confirms that the V10 will feature near bezel-less design, dual-rear cameras, and come with enhanced AI capabilities.

Since Honor V10 will be a flagship device it will utilize Huawei's powerful Kirin 970 chip, which has a dedicated Neural Processing Unit to handle artificial intelligence. The chip made its debut on the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro and also drives the camera performance as well. The handset will also ship with Huawei latest Android Oreo based EMUI 8.

As for the specs, the Honor V10 is said to come with 6-inch Full HD+ FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 6GB and the options of 64GB and 128GB storage. The dual-camera system is rumored to consist of a 16MP main sensor paired to a secondary 20MP sensor. It is expected to pack 4000mAh battery and support fast charging function.

As a reminder, the Honor V9 was launched as Honor 8 Pro in international market, so a similar strategy can be expected this time as well. Moreover, the V10 will be introduced for the global market at an event in London scheduled for December 5.

Honor 7X pre-registrations kick off on Amazon India


Earlier this month Huawei sub-brand revealed that it will soon launch the mid-range bezel-free Honor 7X in India. Now ahead of the official launch,Honor has announced that Amazon India will have the exclusive rights to sell Honor 7X in India on their platform.

Moreover, Amazon India has already started taking pre-registration for the device, and it is also offering exciting prizes for customers who pre-register the Honor 7X. The prizes include, 10 x Honor 7X smartphones, 15 x 10000mAh power banks and 850 x earphones. Seven registered Amazon users will also wind holiday packages from Yatra worth Rs. 75,000.

As a reminder, the Honor 7X was initially launched in China last month and features 5.93-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with minimal bezels, octa-core Kirin 659 processor, 4GB RAM, dual 16MP+2MP rear camera, 8MP front camera and 3340mAh battery. It runs Android Nougat and includes support for dual-SIM/microSD card (via hybrid slots), fingerprint scanner and 4G VoLTE.

In China the Honor 7X is offered in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants,  but it is not known whether all or only one or two will arrive in the country. The base variant (32GB) is priced at an equivalent of Rs. 13,000 in China, so the India pricing could be around this point.

Honor has already confirmed that Honor 7X will be launched in India in December, but is yet to reveal an exact date.

Honor Holly 4 arrives in Europe as Honor 6A Pro


Huawei has a habit of rebranding existing smartphone, and launch it other market under a new moniker. For instance, the recently launched Honor 6C Pro in Europe was a re-branded Honor V9 Play (China).

Continuing the trend, the Honor Holly 4 (India), which was launched in India last month has arrived in Europe under a different moniker dubbed Honor 6A Pro. The phone has been released in Italy, and is listed on Honor's official website.

In terms of specifications, the metal-clad Honor 6A Pro features 5-inch HD display, and is equipped with octa-core Snapdragon 430 chip 3GB RAM, 32GB of expandable storage and 3020mAh battery.

It ships with 13MP rear camera, that's assisted by LED flash, and is capable of recording 1080p videos. The front shooter is a 5MP units and can also record 1080p video. It supports the usual connectivity suite such as dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm ear jack and GPS.

It also has a fingerprint scanner, and runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1 out of the box. Color options include Gold, Silver and Gray.

The Honor 6A Pro can also be expected to be released in other European market as well. However, the pricing is yet to be revealed.

Graphite Black Honor 9i now avaiable on Flipkart for Rs. 17,999


Last month Huawei sub-brand Honor launched the Honor 9i in India featuring bezel-less design, a display with 18:9 aspect ration, and four cameras. The Flipkart exclusive handset was priced at Rs. 17,999, and was available for purchase in Aurora Blue and Prestige Gold colors.

That said, now you will have the option to choose a third color, as Honor has launched the Graphite Black Honor 9i. Apart from the Black coating, the price and specs sheet will be identical to the the other color versions.

The Honor 9i features 5.9-inch Full HD+ FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio, octa-core Kirin 659 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, and 3340mAh battery.

It has dual camera at the back (16MP+2MP) and front (13MP+2MP). Both front and rear cameras have dedicated flash units and can measure depth of field to create bokeh like effects in portrait shot. 

Other features include full metal body, hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, NFC and fingerprint scanner. It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1 out of the box.

Coming soon to India: Near bezel-less Honor 7X and Gionee M7 Power


China's Gionee and Huawei's sub-brand Honor will soon bring budget bezel-less phones to the Indian smartphone market: Gionee M7 Power and Honor 7X. While the Gionee M7 Power is a battery-centric device, the Honor 7X puts the focus on camera.

Starting with Honor 7X, the company aims to strengthen its position in the Indian smartphone market with this phone. The brand is very popular in China and Europe, but has been struggling in India due to high competition from Xiaomi, Samsung, Motorola, Oppo and vivo.

That said, Huawei, Global President George Zhao speaking to IANS said that the company "wants to take the Indian smartphone market by storm with some innovative and trend-setting products and become the country’s top smartphone brand within three years". To achieve this Huawei plans to push its position in the market by lunching flagship products at "unbeatable price", introduce cutting edge technologies (like A.I), expand presence in both online and offline channels and boost marketing efforts.

Zhao also said that the company will launch the Honor 7X at such a price that it will have no competitor in that segment. Speaking of the specs, the Honor 7X's focus is on photography. It features dual-cameras consisting of 16MP+2MP sensor. It also has a near bezel-less design and sports 5.93-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display.

Other specs include octa-core Kirin 659 chip, 4GB RAM, 8MP selfie camera, 4G VoLTE, fingerprint scanner and 3340mAh battery. It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1, and comes in three storage variants: 32GB/64GB/128GB. The phone is priced at an equivalent of Rs. 13,000 in China. The Honor 7X will be launched in December and will also be sold through offline mobile stores.

Next is the Gionee M7 Power, it will be launched in India later this month. The main highlight of the phone is its massive 5000mAh battery, which is likely to last for three to five days on a single charge, depending on the use. It also has a large display featuring a 6-inch HD+ screen with 18:9 aspect ratio.

Other specs include octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 13MP/8MP camera, fingerprint scanner, 4G VoLTE and fast charging support. It runs Android Nougat and carries a price tag equivalent of Rs. 20,000 in Thailand. Color options include Gold, Black and Dark Blue.

Huawei's Honor launches Holly 4 Plus in India for Rs. 13,999


Huawei sub-brand Honor launched the mid-range Holly 4 (rebranded Honor 6A) in India last month for Rs. 11,999. And today it is launching a beefed up version of device dubbed Holly 4 Plus with a bigger display, battery, and improved performance and selfie camera. The phone was first introduced as Enjoy 7 Plus in China, and reached European markets as Y7 Prime.

Speaking of the specs, the Honor Holly 4 Plus features  5.5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor backed by Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB, which can be further expanded via microSD card (via Hybrid dual-SIM tray).

For photography, it gets 12MP f/2.2 rear camera with LED flash and 8MP selfie camera. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G, VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. 

A beefy 4000mAh battery runs the show, which promises up to 20 of hours video playback, 66 hours music of playback and 15 hours of 4G web surfing. The phone ships with Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1 and has a fingerprint scanner at the back.

The Honor Holly 4 Plus has been priced at Rs. 13,999 and will be available from offline mobile stores across the country in Grey, Gold and Silver.

Honor V9 Play debuts in Europe as Honor 6C Pro


Huawei sub-brand Honor has released a budget smartphone for the European market dubbed Honor 6C Pro. Again the brand has re-branded an existing model, and this time it is the Honor V9 Play, which was launched last month in China alongside Honor V9. 

The Honor 6C Pro will features 5.2-inch HD display, octa-core MediaTEK MT6750 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and 3000mAh battery. For photography, there's a single 13MP f/2.0 rear camera with PDAF and LED flash, and 8MP f/2.2 front facing shooter.

It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1 and supports dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It sports unibody metal design with rear mounted fingerprint scanner, and weighs 145g.

The Honor 6C Pro is expected to carry a price tag of €179 (Rs. 14,000 | $211) in Europe starting with France in Black, Gold and Blue colors.

Honor WaterPlay Android tablet with IP67 rating announced


Huawei sub-brand Honor just announced the mid-range Honor 7X in China with bezel-less design and dual-camera. Alongside Honor also announced a tablet called Honor WaterPlay, that boasts IP67 water and dust resistance rating. 

In terms of specification, the metal-clad Honor Waterplay features 10.1-inch Full HD display and is powered by octa-core Kirin 659 processor, the same chip used in Honor 7X and Maimang 6/nova 2i/Honor 9i. It comes in two RAM/Storage options – 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. microSD card is also supported for storage expansion.

The tablet comes with front and rear cameras, USB Type-C port, WiFi, optional 4G LTE support, fingerprint scanner and Harman Kardon powered stereo speaker to deliver immersive sound experience. 

It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1 and is fueled by 6600mAh battery, that's rated to deliver up to 12.8 hours of video playback or 9.3 hours of browsing or up to 800 hours of standby time.
The tablet also supports 9V-2A fast charging that lets you charge the tablet fully in just 2.5 hours. It has a thickness of 7.8mm and weighs 465g.
 

The Honor WaterPlay is priced at CNY 1999 ($303 | Rs. 20,000) for the 3GB/32GB/WiFi model and CNY 2399 ($364 | Rs. 24,000) for the 4GB/64GB/WiFi model. The LTE model comes with 4GB/64GB option, and costs CNY 2699 ($410 | Rs. 27,000). It is now available for pre-order in China in Silver and Champagne Gold color, and will go on sale starting October 24.

Honor 7X with FullView display, dual-cameras announced


Huawei sub-brand Honor has officially announced the launch of the Honor 7X, its second near bezel free smartphone after Honor 9i. It sports metal unibody design, with rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and also comes with dual-cameras, just like its predecessor, Honor 6X.

The Honor 7X features 5.93-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by 2.36GHz octa-core Kirin 659 processor backed by Mali-T830 GPU. It has 4GB RAM, and comes with storage options of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. There's also support for microSD card for storage expansion.



For photography, it gets 16MP and 2MP dual-cameras at the back, with the secondary camera calculating the depth of an image to provide bokeh effect. The selfie camera at the front is an 8MP unit. In terms of connectivity there's hybrid dual-SIM slot, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1 and is fueled by 3340mAh battery.

The Honor 7X 32GB model has been priced at CNY 1299 ($128 | Rs. 13,000), 64GB model at 1699 ($258 | Rs. 17,000) and the 128GB model will cost CNY 1999 ($304 | Rs. 20,000). It is now up for pre-order in China, and go on sale starting October 17 in Gold, Aurora Blue and Black color.

Honor 7X is certified by TENAA


Huawei sub-brand Honor will introduce the successor of its mid-range Honor 6X, called the Honor 7X in home market of China on October 11. Now just two days before the official announcement, the Honor 7X has been certified by China's telecommunications regulatory agency TENAA. As usual, the website reveals the specifications and image of the phone. 

The Honor 7X will get a major upgrade in terms of design and specs, when compared with Honor 6X. Still flaunting a full metal unibody design, the Honor 7X will be larger, and sport near bezel-less design, like the recently launched Honor 9i/Maimang 6/Mate 10 Lite/nova 2i. It will have single camera on the front, and its rear panel will house the dual-camera sensor, LED flash and fingerprint scanner.

Coming to the specs, as per TENAA, the Honor 7X will sport 5.93-inch Full HD+ FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Kirin 659 processor, and 3240mAh battery. It will come with 4GB RAM and storage options of 64GB and 128GB, which can be expanded via microSD card.

It will have dual 16MP+2MP rear camera, and 8MP front facing shooter. It will run Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1, and support the usual connectivity suite. Color options include Black, Blue and Gold colors.
