Alcatel OneTouch Xess tablet with 17.3-inch display and stylus announced
Besides announcing three handsets and a smartwatch, Alcatel OneTouch also announced Xess tablet. This new tablet is aiming to be a family-oriented for use in the kitchen for displaying recipes, in the living room for watching movies, and more. It has an adjustable built-in stand and a slide-out carrying handle which can make the tablet stand in different modes (30 degrees, 50 degrees and 75 degrees). It also has wall mount and smart dock accessories for more viewing angles.
Alcatel OneTouch Xess features 17.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) touch screen display and is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT8783T processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, supports WiFi 802.11 b/g.n, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and is fueled by 10000mAh battery. There is also dual 3-watt speakers powered with JBL by Harman technology for clear audio output. and USB ports.
Due to the bigger display, the tablet comes with a built-in stylus and has hands-free gesture control for controlling the screen by performing various hand gestures. It comes with SkecthBook app with different brushes, colors and effects that lets users to take advantage of the huge tablet.
Alcatel also plans to offer a version with a blue light film over the display to mitigated the purported ill effects of electronically-generated blue light.
Alcatel OneTouch did not reveal the pricing and availability details of the Xess tablet.
