LYF F8 with 4G VoLTE, Android Marshmallow launched at Rs. 4,199

After launching the F1 Plus and Water 9 smartphones, Reliance Retail sub-brand LYF has launched a new ultra-affordable entry-level smartphone dubbed F8.

Similar to other LYF-branded smartphone, the LYF F8 comes with dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE and VoLTE (Voice over LTE). However, it ships with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow instead of Android Lollipop, which runs on almost all of the low end LYF smartphones (Below Rs. 5,000).

Coming to the specs, the LYF F8 features 4.5-inch FWVGA display with Asahi Dragontail glass and is powered by Qualcomm's 1.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor backed by 1GB RAM and Adreno 304 GPU. Storage on-board is 8GB, which can be expanded via microSD card.

There's 8MP rear camera with an LED flash and 5MP front camera for selfies and video calling. It is fueled by 2000mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to eight hours of talk time, 28 hours of audio playback, five hours of HD video playback, and 160 hours of standby time. Other features include WiFi, Bluetooth, USB OTG and GPS.

Priced at Rs. 4,199, the LYF F8 will be available from Reliance Digital and other retail stores across the country. It comes in Black and Blue color. At the said price, the LYF F8 will be competing with Micromax's recently launched Canvas Spark 4G, which comes with the same specs, but has a bigger 5-inch display with Gorilla Glass protection.
