Qualcomm confirms new OnePlus phone coming with Snapdragon 821
Multiple reports have suggested that OnePlus is working on a slightly upgraded version of the OnePlus 3. The new variant is rumored to be called OnePlus 3T or OnePlus 3 Turbo and feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 processor.
Now Qualcomm has all but officially confirmed that there is a new Snapdragon 821 powered device on the way from OnePlus. The Snapdragon 821 SoC is more optimized and power efficient as compared to Snapdragon 820, which is currently used in OnePlus 3. The processor is also said to bring support for Google's Daydream VR platform for the OnePlus 3T.
Apart from Snapdragon 821 processor, the OnePlus 3T will reportedly run Android 7.0 Nougat and use Sony IMX395 20MP imaging sensor instead of IMX298 16MP sensor use on the OnePlus 3.
As for the other features, the OnePlus 3T will retain the design and other specs of OnePlus 3 including the metal unibody design, 6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage, 8MP front camera, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C ports and 3300mAh battery.
If rumors are to be believed, the OnePlus 3T will be priced at $479 (Rs. 32,000), $80 (Rs. 5,000) more than the OnePlus 3. The phone is expected to make its debut on November 14.
