Samsung Anncounce 14nm Exynos 7 Octa-core Processor

Samsung has announced its new mobile application processor, Exynos 7 based on 14nm process. The company has started the mass production of the chipset.The Exynos octa-core processor was announced last year which was based on 20nm HKMG process technology

The 14m FinFet is offers 20 percent faster speed, 35 percent less power consumption and 30 percent productivity gain as compared to Samsung's existing 20nm process technology.

Samsung states that the improvement in its processor will enhance the productivity of its device.

The Exynos 7 Octa-core processor has ARM Cortex-A57 cores and Cortex A-53 cores with ARM big.LITTLE Heterogeneous Multi Processing (HMP). The 14nm model is likely to use the same.

According to reports, the Exynos 7 will be the processor that will power Samsung's next flagship device Galaxy S6 which will be unveiled at MWC 2015, Barcelona.
