Apple releases iOS 8.2 firmware update with Apple Watch support, now available for download

Apple has rolled out the iOS 8.2 update to its devices - iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The most notable feature the update brings is the support for Apple Watch via a dedicated application. The app lets user pair and sync their watch with an iPhone.

Also onboard is a brand new Activity app for viewing fitness data from Apple Watch. The Activity app is available for iPhone 5 and later models.

The Health app also gets improved and now users can change various measurement units and visualize workout sessions from third-party apps. Other Health app changes include stability improvements when dealing with large amounts of data, and several bug fixes. It also adds a privacy setting that enables turning off tracking of steps, distance and flights climbed.

The iOS 8.2 update also brings several enhancements for Apple Mail, Maps, and Music, VoiceOver reliability, and improved connectivity for Made for iPhone Hearing Aids.

The iOS 8.2 update is  available for download for iPhone 4S and later models and iPad 2 and later models and fifth gen iPod touch.

The Apple iOS 8.2 update package is around 565MB. To get the update go to the settings menu > General > About, if an update is available, a prompt will appear. Make sure your device is connected to the internet and your battery has at least 50 percent charge before you install the new firmware.
