Next Nexus device might be made by Huawei
Google could collaborate with Chinese OEM Huawei for the next version of Nexus smartphone. Rumors say that Google has already signed an agreement with Huawei to manufacture its next device.
Word about the deal came from Kevin Yang, Director of China research at mobile analytics company iSuppli. He shared via his Weibo account that the search engine giant has chosen Huawei to make its next Nexus smartphone.
Earlier an anonymous source on Weibo stated that Google was planning to launch two Nexus variants this year. According to the post the high-end Nexus device will be manufactured by LG and low-end Nexus device by Huawei.
The partnership could also mean that the next Nexus device will feature Huawei's proprietary Kirin chipset.
Google previously collaborated with Samsung, HTC, Motorola and LG to manufacture its Nexus smartphones and tablets.
The launch of the next Nexus device is still five to six months away. Along the way we expect more rumors, images and details about the next Nexus device.
