LG G4 will feature a 'groundbreaking' 16-megapixel rear camera
LG confirmed that its upcoming 2015 flagship device the 'G4' will sport a 16-megapixel camera module with aperture f/1.8 developed in-house by LG Innotek. LG notes that the 16-megapixel camera is 'groundbreaking' and is now under mass production at LG Innotek's plant.
The new camera module receives 80 percent more light than LG G3's 13-megapixel camera with aperture f/2.4. This will result in better looking images in low light environments and less blur when shooting fast moving objects.
Besides the 16-megapixel rear camera, in response to explosive growth of selfies, the company has developed a 8-megapixel front facing camera module that utilizes ultra-thin IR filter that keeps infrared light from entering the camera lens. This gives more natural and accurate images taken from the front camera.
To recap, the LG G4 will feature 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS display, 16-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front facing camera. It will run Android 5.0 Lollipop with LG's new UX 4.0 on top. No other details are available.
The LG G4 will be unveiled on April 28 at press events in multiple cities - New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore and Turkey.
