Asus ZenWatch 2 Android Wear smartwatch announced

Asus announced the second generation of ZenWatch at the Computex 2015 in Taipei, the ZenWatch 2. They are Android Wear powered smartwatch and come in two sizes with different model names - ZenWatch 2 (W1501Q) and ZenWatch 2 (W1502Q). According to Asus the new smartwatch has been crafted with "stylish and detail focused design".

The ZenWatch 2 (W1501Q) and ZenWatch 2 (W1502Q) features interchangable 22mm strap (with 49mm stainless steel case) and an 18mm strap (with 45mm steel case) respectively. The face dimension is of 49 x 41mm and 45 x 37 mm respectively.

Asus has added a metal watch crown which according to the company is a new way to interact with the watch. The crown is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection against scratches. It also features a new magnetic charger. The ZenWatch 2 sports AMOLED display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and is powered by an unspecified Qualcomm processor. It has IP67 certification for water and dust resistance. The 22mm strap comes with an optional chargeback.

On the software side, Asus ZenWatch 2 comes with Asus Welness app, that allows users to track running and cycling activities. The Watch Face Land” app allows users to create their own watch faces for the device. It also has an enhanced Remote Camera feature that can switch between front and rear camera of smartphone along with an option of zoom-in and out. 

The stainless steel case of both the ZenWatch 2 models comes in Silver, Gunmetal and Rose-Gold colors. The rubber strap comes in Blue, Orange, Red and Taupe colors. There is also a soft, premium leather strap that is available in Khaki, Brown, Gray, Blue and Orange,
