Xiaomi Mi Band 1s photo surfaces online, packs heart rate monitor

Xiaomi is working on the successor to the Mi Band dubbed Mi Band 1s. Two leaked images allegedly shows the Mi Band 1s.

The Mi Band 1s has the same designs as its predecessor with the same aluminum top with three LED lights that indicates the battery life. However, there are some differences. It will feature a heart rate monitor which is located on the back of the wearable and has constant contact with the user's wrist.

The current Mi Band model tracks your workouts and sleeping pattern. The tracker can be detached from the band, allowing user's to swap the bands. It can be worn around the neck, but since the heart rate monitoring requires constant contact with skin, this functionality will not make its way in the new model.

Xiaomi’s Mi Band is the cheapest fitness tracker available in the market and has been selling quite well. Last month Xiaomi announced that it shipped more than six million Mi Band to date.

Xiaomi's Band 1s is likely to get a bump in the price, due to the addition of heart rate monitor, but it is safe to assume it will be priced aggressively. There is no official word from Xiaomi yet and no release date and pricing has been revealed.
