GoPro’s new $199 Hero+ is a budget action camera with Wi-Fi

Popular action camera maker GoPro has announced a new entry-level action camera dubbed Hero+. It supports WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, making it possible to catch and share media contents on-the-go.

It is capable of shooting 1080p and 720p videos at 60fps as well as Time-Lapse videos and 8-megapixel still shots with single  and 5 photos per second burst modes. It can automatically adjust frame rates according to lighting conditions. The camera has a feature called Spot Meter, which automatically sets the exposure based on a single spot in the middle of the images.

The new action camera has an ultra-wide angle glass lens with reduced distortion and fixed f/2.8 aperture. It is fueled by a 1160mAh battery, weighs 123g and is also rugged, durable and waterproof up to 40 metres.

GoPro Hero+ is priced at $199.99 (Rs. 13,000) and will be available at authorized retailers around the world and on GoPro.com starting October 4.

GoPro has also announced a $100 price cut on Hero Session 4. It will now be available for $299.99 (Rs. 19,900), down from the launch price of $399.99 (Rs. 26,500).
