Motorola outs list of devices getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Motorola has outed the list of smartphones that will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update first. This includes the Moto X (2nd gen, 3rd gen Pure Edition, Style and Play), Moto G (2nd and 3rd gen), Droid Turbo, Moto MAXX and Moto Turbo. Unfortunately there is no mention of Moto E 2nd gen list. Note that, this is just an initial list and will evolve over time.

Motorola in its blog post note that it will work fast to push the updates to these devices but won't upgrade until they're ready. The roll out dates for these devices will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Motorola also announced that it will retire some apps including that they have developed for its smartphones in favor of Android 6.0 Marshmallow capabilities. Moto Assist will be removed from Motorola's Marshmallow build since do not disturb in Android M offers the same feature. Moto Migrate will also be removed since Android M has better support for backing up. The Moto Connect Google chrome extension is also being discontinued. Motorola has also added the Nexus 6 to the list, which will be the first Motorola device to get Android M update directly from Google starting next week.

- 2015 Moto X Style (3rd gen)
- 2015 Moto X Play
- 2015 Moto G (3rd gen)
- 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the US (2nd gen)
- 2014 Moto X in Latin America, Europe and Asia (2nd gen) (China upgrade is still under evaluation)
- 2014 Moto G and Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd gen) (China upgrade is still under evaluation)
