Press materials of Samsung Galaxy A9 surfaces
Earlier this month, Samsung outed the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 2016 editions. There is also a new member of the family, the Galaxy A9, which is expected to be announced soon. The handset has already passed through AnTuTu and GeekBench and now ahead of the official unveiling, press material of the Galaxy A9 has hit the interwebs, revealing the design and full specs of the Galaxy A9 2016.
As expected, similar to the other Galaxy A series handsets, the Galaxy A9 2016 will sport a metallic frame and dual 2.5D glass panels. Just like the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016). It will also be equipped with a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button.
The display is of a phablet-grade which is 6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p. Inside there is a octa-core Snapdragon 620 processor (quad-core 1.8GHz Cortex A72 + quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex A53 CPUs) aided by Adreno 510 GPU and 3GB RAM. It comes with 32GB expandable storage and will run Android 5.1 Lollipop.
For imaging, it features 13-megapixel optically stabilised rear camera and an 8-megapixel front facing camera with support for panoramic selfies. The rest of the specs include 4G LTE support, Samsung Pay and a 4000mAh battery with fast charging support. One of the product shot reveals that Galaxy A9 will feature power bank capabilities.
The Samsung Galaxy A89 will come in multiple hues like pink, white and gold. As of now there is no word on pricing and availability details, but is expected to be officially unveiled later this month.
