OnePlus X goes invite free permanently

Last month, the OnePlus 2 went invite free forever, and now OnePlus is scrapping the invite system for OnePlus X as well. Earlier OnePlus X was available for purchase invite-free every Tuesday, and now it is permanently invite free.

“We’re extremely excited to be making the OnePlus X invite-free more quickly this time around. With every device we release, we grow more mature and more adept at handling the demands and expectations of our community. We largely owe our success to your unrelenting support, so we hope that this development will make the process of purchasing your very own OnePlus X as smooth and effortless as it can possibly be,” said Carl Pei, OnePlus co-founder, in a forum post.

Unfortunately, Indian customers will have to wait for a while to get their hands on OnePlus X invite free. According to Gadgets360, OnePlus India confirmed that the phone will go on sale without invites shortly in India, so interested customers will still need an invite to buy the OnePlus X as of now.

Now all the three OnePlus smartphone, the OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X are available to buy without an invite. For reference, the OnePlus's first smartphone, the OnePlus One wasn't available to buy without an invite for nearly a year after it was launched. The successor OnePlus 2 took 4 months to go invite-free, while the OnePlus X made it just in 3 months after its launch.

Additionally OnePlus also announced price revision for its OnePlus Power Bank. It will now retail for $19, instead of $14.99, the reason for the raise in price being ""increased costs in both the manufacturing and operations of the Power Bank". The new price will come in effect from next month. OnePlus is also offering 20 percent discount on OnePlus X flip cover.

  1. Thank you for another great article. Where else could anyone get that kind of information in such a perfect way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I am on the look for such information.
