Xiaomi starts rolling out MIUI 7.1
The MIUI 7 was released two months ago, that brought new features, tweaks and new set of themes for Xiaomi devices. Now Xiaomi is rolling out global stable build of MIUI 7.1 custom Android ROM to select Xiaomi devices. The update is also being rolled out to Chinese models as well.
The Xiaomi devices eligible for MIUI 7.1 update include Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi 2 / Prime, Redmi 1S, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3G, Mi Pad and Mi Pad 2.
The update is being rolled over-the-air (OTA) and you can update your device using the 'Updater App'
The MIUI 7.1 update brings bug fixes and optimizations ranging from fixing issues with lockscreen status bar to adding support for Mi Piston earbuds in the audio settings. The new features has been added to the File Explorer (now supports hidden file), new doodle tool, Mi Drop for file charging, new data saver function to reduce WiFi/data usage by up to 50 percent and more.
