Zauba listing confirms screen sizes of Galaxy S7, S7 edge
Zauba is India's export / import tracker and always has been a reliable source in confirming key specification of devices. Now the website has listed two models of the upcoming Galaxy S7- SM-G930R4 and SM-G93R54, which are reportedly being called the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge respectively.
As per the listing, the Galaxy S7 (SM-G930R4) will sport a 5.1-inch screen, which corroborates with the screen-size listed on AnTuTu benchmark test, while the Galaxy S7 edge (SM-G935R4) will have a 5.5-inch display. Both screens should flaunt a QHD 1440 x 2560 resolution.
The listing also mentions that both the Galaxy S7 models were imported into India for testing purpose, with their valid IMEI number withheld. The declared value of each unit is Rs. 23,844 ($350), but do note that this is not the final pricing.
According to rumors the Galaxy S7 (and edge) is powered by the new octa-core Exynos 8890 or Snapdragon 820 SoC (depending on the region) with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage. The main camera is 12-megapixel, while the front snapper is 5-megapixel. The 12MP main camera is expected to use Samsung's new BRITECELL technology, that promises better low-light performance and a wider dynamic range as compared to the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge's 16-megapixel camera. The Android OS the Galaxy S7 will run on is Marshmallow. It will also have microSD card slot, which was not a part of the Galaxy S6 family and Note5.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are expected to be unveiled on February 21 during Samsung's Unpacked 2016 event, which happens a day before MWC kicks off in Barcelona.
