Microsoft Band 2 add GPS power saver mode, weight tracking
Microsoft's latest update to the Band 2 brings additional functionality to the activity tracker including GPS power save mode and weight tracking. The latest update comes after two months, Microsoft Band received music controls, activity reminders and improved exercise tile in December.
The Microsoft Band 2 offered 48 hours of battery life, and with the new update the battery life can be extended for up to four hours when you run or bike with GPS. With the new GPS power saving mode, the Band's GPS will sample your location in intervals, rather than continuously and the Health app on your device will still map your route.
Microsoft's Health app for Windows, iOS and Android platform gets a new weight tracking feature. With the new feature you will be able to manually enter you weight into the Health app, and view in one or three months charts, or see your complete history to-date, to track changes in your weight and get BMI data.
Both the Microsoft Band 2 update and the weight-charting feature in the Health app are rolling out now.
