The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge is now receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in South Korea. The update is limited to South Korea and there is no information on its global roll out.

The Android 6.01.1 update for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, brings several changes to the smartphone interface including addition of new themes based on color palettes helping in customization. The Quick toggle menus and status bar will now appear in White background, instead of blue. Icons are also changed for certain apps.

It will also bring the usual Android Marshmallow features such as Doze that should improve standby battery drain and app permissions which will make it easier to keep track of what each app has access to. Additionally, the fingerprint sensor can now be used for third party apps.

Besides the usual Android 6.0 Marshmallow features, the 6.0.1 version also includes new set of emojis with full support for Unicode 7.0 and 8.0.
