Apple iPhone SE to be available in India starting April 8, prices start at Rs. 39,000

Apple at its Monday launch event announced the 4-inch iPhone SE. Soon after the announcement, the company sent out press release stating that the iPhone SE will go on sale in India early April, without mentioning an exact date.

Now Apple distributor Redington India has announced that the iPhone SE will go on sale in 3,000 retail outlets across the country starting April 8. The pre-orders will start March 29.

Apple's compact 4-inch iPhone SE comes in 16GB and 64GB storage model. Apple has already confirmed that the 16GB storage model will cost Rs. 39,000, but did not reveal the pricing of 64GB storage model. The 16GB iPhone SE price is higher as compared to U.S price of $399 (Rs. 26,647).

The Apple iPhone SE has similar specs as the iPhone 6s, except the screen size and 3D Touch, while the design language is that of the iPhone 5s, but does offer better battery life as compared to iPhone 5s and 6s. Apple touts the iPhone SE to be the 'world's most powerful 4-inch smartphone'.
