Apple's 4-inch iPhone SE, 9.7-inch iPad Pro packs 2GB RAM

Apple took the wraps of the 4-inch iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro at an event in Cupertino on Monday. Apple, as usual did not reveal the RAM of both the devices, but thanks to TechCrunch's Mathhem Panzarino, we know how much RAM both the devices pack.

Panzariono has discovered that the iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro packs 2GB RAM. The same amount of RAM is found in iPad Air 2, iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. To recall the iPad Pro had 4GB RAM, and the iPhone 5s had 1GB RAM.

Apart from finding out the RAM, a Geekbench test was performed on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. The test revealed that A9X processor in the 9.7-inch iPad Pro runs at a slower speed than the same chip utilized by 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The smaller iPad Pro scores 3022 on the test. For comparison the 12.9-inch iPad Pro scores 3231.

A recent report revealed that the A9X chip of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is under-clocked and works at around 2.16GHz, compared to the one inside the 12.9-inch model, that clocks in at 2.24GHz. It is not know if this will have an effect on the performance.

The 9.7-inch iPad Pro offers same specs as its 12.9 sibling, but gets a 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and 4K recording as opposed to 8MP rear & 1.2MP front camera on the the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
