Lenovo K3 Note gets Android 6.0 Marshmallow update


As promised, Lenovo has started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the K3 Note in India. The update carrying build number K50a40_S121_150813_ROW_TO_K50a40_S322_160314_ROW  is now available over-the-air (OTA) and weighs in at around 1.6GB in size.

Apart from bringing Marshmallow features (App Permissions, Web Experience, App Links, Doze mode and more), the update adds support for TheatreMax for an immersive VR experience, a feature that is available in Vibe K4 Note, Vibe X3 and the recently launched K5 Plus.

If you have not yet received the update notification, you can manually check for it by going to Settings > About Phone > Software update. Before you begin downloading the update, make sure you are connected to a WiFi network. You can also manually flash the update using recovery by downloading the direcet OTA file from here.

The Lenovo K3 Note was one of the most popular smartphone in India last year. It was priced at Rs. 9,999 and offered 5.5-inch 1080p display, MediaTek MT6752 SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 13MP/5MP rear & front camera and 3000mAh battery.

In the coming months Lenovo is expected to roll out Android Marshmallow to A7000,Vibe P1, Vibe S1, Vibe X3 Lite, A700 Plus and Vibe X3.
