LG announces global rollout of G5


Earlier this month, LG announced that its flagship G5 along with 'G5 and Friends' companion devices will launch in the United States, Canada and U.K in early April. Now the the company has announced that the G5 will go on sale globally, including home market Korea starting March 31.

LG also confirmed that the G5 will be available in U.S from April 1 via Sprint or Verizon through a 2-year contract at $99. The unlocked LG G5 unit will cost $799.99 (Rs. 53,000). LG is also running a pre-order campaign for the G5, where customers will get a free battery, battery charge cradle and a USB Type-C to micro USB adapter.

In Korea LG is offering free Cam Plus camera attachment and battery pack (extra battery and cradle for free with the purchase of G5. The company will also offer Hi-Fi Plus with B&O play and H3 by B&O PLAY earphone bundle to customers at discounted rate along with the G5.

LG has already confirmed that the G5 is coming to India in Q2 2016.

The LG G5 offers a innovative design like the dual-camera setup and modular design,wherein you can swap the chin of the body with the module LG provides called "CAM Plus" and "Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play". The G5 also features an "Always On Display", that lets you check the time, notifications and battery status, when the phone is asleep.

Spec-wise, the LG G5 has a 5.3-inch Quad HD display and is equipped with Snapdragon 820 SoC w/ Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt expandable storage, 16MP/8MP dual rear cameras & 8MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, NFC and USB Type-C. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is fueled by 2800mAh battery w/ Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.
