Samsung rumored to launch Galaxy S7 Mini to compete with Apple's iPhone SE

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge went of sale recently and within the first two days sold 100,000 units on its home turf. Now a new report coming out of Taiwan suggests that Samsung is working on a mini variant of the Galaxy S7.

The report says that, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S7 Mini later this year, as a response to Apple's 4-inch iPhone SE, which is expected to be announced on March 21.

As per the source the mini variant of Galaxy S7 arrive with high-end specs, that include a 4.6-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 820 SoC or Samsung's own Exynos 8890 SoC, 3GB RAM and 12MP main camera. Samsung will also release an accessory for the mini variant called Periscope Lens with 3x optical zoom.

The last mini version of the 'S' series was the Galaxy S5 Mini. It's worth pointing out that Samsung was rumored to release a mini variant of Galaxy S6 last year, but the device never saw the light of the days, so it is advised to take the report with a pinch of salt.
