Amazon gives its cheapest Fire tablet 16GB of storage and new colors
Amazon's most affordable $50 Fire tablet that was launched last year with 8GB storage, gets a refresh and now comes with 16GB storage as well priced at $70. Amazon is also adding three new color options. In addition to black, the Fire tablet comes with new color choices of magenta, blue and tangerine.
Besides storage, the rest of the specs of the Fire tablet are similar. To recap the specs, the Amazon Fire tablet features 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) IPD display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. It gets 2MP rear camera and VGA front camera, and supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth w/ A2DP and USB 2.0 connectivity. The tablet runs on Fire OS 5 Bellini based on Android Lollipop and promises battery life of up to 7 hours on mixed usage.
Amazon has also refreshed the Fire Kids Edition as well. It also gets and increased 16GB storage and a new lime green case with soft corners. It is priced at $120, while the 8GB model is is still selling at $99.
The new Amazon Fire Tablet (16GB) and Fire Kids Edition (16GB) are now available in the U.S from Amazon.com
