Asus ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe renders surface

The ZenFone series of smartphone from Asus has been hugely popular and a bit confusing as well (due to model names). The follow up to last year's sleeper hit ZenFone 2 smartphone is in the works.

We first heard of the ZenFone 3 back in October 2015, when Asus CEO Jonney Shih said that the phone will come with USB Type-C ports. The ZenFone 3 also surfaced on bench-marking website and also there were reports that the handset will feature fingerprint sensor, making the ZenFone 3 series the first in the ZenFone line up to come with this feature.

Now, Renders of ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Deluxe have hit the inter-webs courtesy of design site Red Dot 21.

Red Dot 21 does not give away the specification of the ZenFone 3, but mentions that the smartphone will have a 2.5D glass on both front and backsides. It will sports curved aluminum frame and will have layer of decoration film and metallic spin texture at the back.

The ZenFone 3 will house USB Type-C port and the front camera will be accompanied by a flash for low light situation. The rear faced square-camera will have a dual-tone led flash and laser auto focus. The phone will come with fingerprint scanner and there will be the usual set of three capacitive function keys below the display. There will also be an optional Smart Flip Cover as accessory.

The ZenFone 3 Deluxe model will sport a full metal body and will feature a Home button, which could double up as fingerprint scanner. There are also capacitive buttons on either side.

The Asus ZenFone 3 is expected to be announced at Computex 2016, Taipei, that begins on May 31 and ends June 4.
