OnePlus 3 press image leaks, to sport metal body, AMOLED display
Evan Blass has shared a new press render of the OnePlus 3, which is in line with live images that were leaked a couple of days back. Design-wise, the OnePlus 3 looks like HTC 10 and will sport a unibody metal design.
At the bottom, the OnePlus 3 has a USB Type-C port along with speaker holes and 3.5mm audio jack. OnePlus has retained the alert slider hardware toggle from OnePlus 2, which is on the left. The camera placement is HTC-like with a square camera module accompanied by LED flash, but there is no laser auto-focus. The antenna lines on the back also looks HTC-like. One the front, below the display, the home button is placed which doubles as fingerprint scanner.
Overall the OnePlus 3 has received a major design change, as compared to OnePlus One and OnePlus 2. This is no surprise as OnePlus Co-founder Carl Pei already siad that the upcoming flagship will feature a 'new design'.
According to Blass OnePlus 3 will come with AMOLED display and pack 3000mAh battery, compared to 3300mAh battery on last year's OnePlus 2. Other rumored specs include 5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB/6GB RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage, 16MP rear & 8MP front camera, Dual-SIM, 4G LTE and NFC. It will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The OnePlus 3 will be unveiled before Q2 2016.
