Siri creator introduces Viv, a new AI assistant
There is a new digital personal assistant called Viv that will accompany Alexa, Siri and Coratana in the AI innovation segment. Created by Siri co-founder Dag Kittlaus,Viv is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and is capable of responding most of the complex question or commands, a feature which current personal digital voice assistant are lacking.
Viv aims to become a smart personal assistant by taking into account the user's request, past preferences, integrating various third party apps together, and performing the required tasks in a seamless manner. Some of the tasks Viv will be able to perform include order pizza, send money, order flowers, give weather updates, and more.
To make tasks much easier third party services like Uber, Hotel.com and more are integrated into Viv. The aim is to accomplish maximum tasks simpler through voice commands. This will be possible by making use of a technology called dynamic program generation, which is capable of writing its own software specific to a received command. The technology will help Viv grow and learn more quickly than other digital personal assistant. The creator says that Viv is "taught by the world, knows more than it is taught, and learns every day."
Viv aims to go beyond and take on Apple's Siri, Amazon's Alexa, Microsoft's Cortana and Google's voice assistant. Viv not only wants to make its mak on smartphones, but even computers, cars, home appliances and connected devices. Viv means life, and will launch towards the end of this year.
