Xiaomi's first drone launching on May 25


Earlier this year, Xiaomi's co-founder and VP Liu De revealed the company plans to foray into the drones segment, and was working on a UAV. Now Xiaomi has scheduled a press event for May 25 in China, where the company will unveil its first drone.

Xiaomi has been dropping several hints regarding the drone. Recently Xiaomi accidentally published the Drone App, that revealed the drone is will be capable of recording 4K resolution videos at 30fps, which indicates the drone will have a powerful built-in camera. The app has now been take down.


In addition, Xiaomi last year patented a technology for drones, which allows users to control the drone via wrist band using gestures. Reports also suggest that users will be able to control and direct the flight of the drone by shaking or rolling the Mi Band.

Xiaomi also released a teaser image that shows bamboo-copter.

As for the pricing, earlier rumors said that the Drone would be affordable and priced at CNY 999 ($153 | Rs. 10,000), however, latest rumor suggest that it could cost CNY 3999 ($610 | Rs. 41,220). We should get to know all the official details on the launch day. The event starts at 7pm China time, that 4:30pm IST.
