YU Yureka, Yureka Plus, Yunique, Yuphoria will get Android Marshmallow next month
Micromax sub-brand YU has announced that four of its smartphones – Yunique, Yuphoria, Yureka and Yureka Plus will receive stable Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA update within the next 30 days. Surprisingly, the Yutopia, that was launched a few months back has been left out.
The Marshmallow beta is being tested internally by YU, and it has also made it available for the users. Yu Yuphoria and Yureka Plus users can download the beta build from developer.yuplaygod.com portal and can flash it manually. YU will also release Android Marshmallow beta build for the Yunique and Yutopia soon.
In addition YU announced that is has open sourced its mobile OS platform, YU OS and is inviting developers across the globe to get on-board and contribute to 'YU-OPEN-OS'.
YU giving details about its 'Project Highway' (YU OS) said that it will be curating source codes from multiple drop points, such as Google’s AOSP repos, Chipset Vendors Repos, Various ROMs (where the community developers contribute) and its internal YU customization to create a powerful OS which will be able to support all YU based devices and other Android devices as well.
YU OS will be deeply integrated with Around YU service and is expected to ship with YUs next flagship, the Yunicorn.
