iOS 10 beta lets you uninstall built-in apps from Home Screen

Apple's latest iOS update, the iOS 10 bring a slew of new features and improvements, however one major feature was not mentioned during Apple's keynote speech, but posted it on their support page website. This feature of iOS 10 will let you remove unwanted built-in apps right from the home screen.

With iOS 10, you will get more control over app management on your iOS devices. Stock apps like Weather, Watch, Voice Memos, Videos, Tips, Stocks, Reminders, Podcasts, Notes, Music, News, iBooks, iCloud Drive, Maps, Mail, iTunes Store, FaceTime, Contacts, Compass, Calendar, and Calculator can be deleted and downloaded later from the App Store.

It's worth mentioning removing a built-in app will also affect all the related user data and configuration files. Apple has provided few examples:
  • If you have an Apple Watch paired with your iPhone, removing an app from your iPhone Home screen also removes that app from your Apple Watch Home screen.
  • If you remove the Podcasts app from your Home screen, Podcasts won’t be available with CarPlay.
  • If you remove the Stocks or Weather app from your Home screen, stocks and weather won’t be available elsewhere. For example, you won’t see stocks and weather information in Notification Center on your iPhone or as Complications or Glances on your Apple Watch.
  • If you remove the Calculator app, the calculator won’t appear in Control Center.
