Lenovo K4 Note gets Android Marshmallow


The Lenovo K4 Note, that was launched in India in the first week of January running Android 5.1 Lollipop, is now receiveing Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The update is being rolled out OTA (over-the-air) and the download package is 1.6GB (1664MB) in size.

The Android Marshmallow update for K4 Note, brings a number of new featurs including revamped app permissions, Google Now on Tap, adoptable storage, Doze mode and more. It will also include Android Security patch for the month of May.

The update is being pushed out in phased manner, which means not all users will get the update at once, but over the next few days. If your device is ready to receive the update you'll be notified, if not, you can check manually by going to settings > About phone and check for system update.

Lenovo also  announced it sold 6,00,000 units of K4 Note and 1, 50,000 units of ANT VR headset on Amazon so far. To recap, Lenovo's K4 Note is the world's first smartphone with 'TheaterMax' technology for immersive VR experience. Price at Rs. 11,999, the K4 Note comes with  5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, MediaTek MT6753 SoC, 3GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt expandable storage 13MP/5MP camera, 4G LTE, Dual SIM slot, fingerprint scanner and 3300mAh battery.

It's worth noting that, Lenovo has already rolled out Android Marshmallow update to K3 Note, A7000, Vibe P1 and Vibe S1, and soon will roll out the same to Vibe X3 and K5/K5 Plus.
