UK based STK to enter Indian smartphone market this month


UK based mobile brand STK has announced that it will foray into Indian mobile market later this month. The company already sells mobile accessories in the country. Currently, STK sells its devices in UK, Latin America, Middle East and select African countries and has sold over three million units.

In India, the company will operate under the brand name STK Mobiles, and plans to launch more than 10 mobile phones in the country by end of this year. All of them will be Android smartphones priced between Rs. 2999 and Rs. 10,000 across Hero, Galactic, Sync, Storm and Summer Fruits series.

STK Mobile's first offering to the Indian smartphone market will be the Hero X. Priced at Rs. 9,999, the Hero X comes with metal unibody design, 5-inch HD 2.5D glass display, MediaTek MT6735P SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, hybrid dual SIM slots, 4G LTE, Android 5.1 Lollipop and 2050mAh battery.

The company also plans to set up R&D centers and a manufacturing plant in the country soon. Furthermore, it also aims to become the top three online selling brands in the country within two or three years.
