WhatsApp is working on a new features for its iOS app that will let users to share songs from their device or Apple Music with their contacts, send bigger emojis and more. The feature were spotted on WhatsApp for iOS beta (v2.16.7.257), and will roll out to non-beta users soon.
When a user share songs from their device or Apple Music, the recipient will see a small music player icon along with album art and you can tap on it to play the song. The songs can be stored locally on the device or linked with the song on Apple Music. However, in case of Apple Music both the sender and recipient have to be paid subscribers of Apple Music to send a song from the app.
Another feature that is being tested is bigger emoji, that were introduced with iOS 10. These emoji will be three times bigger than the current size. Next up, WhatsApp is also set to get public group invites and Mentions feature that will let users to tag people from their contacts listed in their address book.
