Airtel enhances 4G network capacity in Bengaluru using FD LTE in 1800 Mhz band
Airtel already offers 4G services in Bengaluru using TD LTE in the 2300MHz band. Now the telecom giant has expanded its 4G network capacity in the IT capital of India with the the launch of 4G services on the 1800mHz spectrum band using FDD-LTE (band 3) technology.
With the launch, Airtel's 4G services will now operate in dual spectrum bands of 2300 MHz and 1800 MHz in Bengaluru and users will get better network coverage and data speeds.
Bengaluru is among the first few cities in the country to get 4G services on both FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE bands. The 4G network expansion is part of Airtel's Project Leap, a nationwide network transformation initiative aimed at improving network quality.
Airtel now offers 4G services across 130 towns in Karnataka.
