Android Nougat is coming to HTC 10, One M9, One A9
Earlier this year in May HTC confirmed that the One M9, One A9 and HTC 10 will get Android N update. Now, shortly after Google revealed that Android N will be officially called Android Nougat (v7.0), HTC reaffirmed that the HTC One M9, One A9 and HTC 10 will be the first set of devices to get Android 7.0 Nougat in the future.
HTC said that the actual timing of the update and additional devices from its lineup that will receive Android Nougat will be announced later this year, when Google ships the final version of Android Nougat ships to manufacturers.
The HTC 10 is the company's flagsip smartphone for the year, so it is no surprise it will get Android Nougat. The HTC One A9 was the first non-nexus device to run Android Marshmallow. Upon launch HTC had promised that the phone will receive latest Android updates just within 15 days after a Google Nexus gets it. The HTC One M9 is the company's flagship phone for 2015 launched with Android 5.1 Lollipop and was updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Most likely Android Nougat will be the last.
In related, HTC is also reportedly working with Google for the 2016 Nexus smartphones code-named Sailfish and Marlin.
