Ringing Bells schedule July 7 event for new smartphones, LED TV launch

India based startup Ringing Bells, best known for their Rs. 251 ($4) Freedom 251 smartphone, has scheduled an event for July 7 in India. At the event the company will announce new range of smartphones, and its foray into the TV market with the Freedom HD LED TV.

There are no details of the new smartphones. As for the TV, Ringing Bell CEO Mohit Goel revealed that the TV will cost less than Rs. 10,000 and will be the cheapest HD LED TV in the market. It will be sold online with the promise of two day delivery. Only 1 lakh units of the TV are in stock.

Ringing Bells came into picture in February, and after being part of several controversies and allegations last week announced that the company will start shipping Freedom 251 from June 30, but that has been delayed until July 7.

The Freedom 251 at $4 is the cheapest Android smartphone in the world, and offers specs, that we usually see in a Rs. 3,000 priced phone including 4-inch display, quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 3.2MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 3G and 1450mAh battery.
