Xiaomi outs Mi Max variant with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage in China


Xiaomi has silently introduced a new affordable variant of the 6.44-inch Mi Max phablet with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. Initially Xiaomi offered the Mi Max with 3GB/32GB, 3GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB RAM/ROM configurations starting at CNY 1499 ($230 | Rs. 15,500). 

The new affordable variant of Mi Max is available for purchase in China for CNY 1199 ($180 | Rs. 12,100).

Rest of the specs will remain unchanged which includes 6.44-inch 1080p Gorilla Glass 3 display, Snapdragon 650, 16MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 4G LTE, hybrid Dual SIM slot, 7.5mm full metal unibody design, Android Marshamallow based MIUI 7, fingerprint scanner and a massive 4850mAh batttery.

Last week Xiaomi launched the Mi Max in India, and went on sale early today.  The Mi Max SD-650 SoC + 3GB RAM + 32GB native storage model is priced at Rs. 14,999, and SD-652 SoC + 4GB RAM + 128 GB native storage at Rs. 19,999.
