OnePlus releases Oxygen OS 3.1.0 community build based on Android Marshmallow for OnePlus X
OnePlus has released Oxygen OS 3.1.0 community preview based on Android 6.0.1 Marshamllow for the OnePlus X smartphone.
In addition to Marshmallow features, the preview build for OnePlus X brings fixes, improvements, and new apps like Music Player and Gallery for the OnePlus X. It also includes Android security patch for August.
New features in OxygenOS 3.1.0 community preview for OnePlus X
Since this is an early build, users may face the following problems:
- Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow upgrade
- Launcher upgrades : New icon packs, Google search bar UI customization, new wallpaper picker
- Shelf UX improvements: Long press boards to rearrange or remove
- General system performance improvement
- Settings changes: New (native Android) app permissions, new Alert Slider settings with more customization options
- New apps: OnePlus Music Player, OnePlus Gallery
- August 1 security patches for Android
The OnePlus X OxygenOS 3.1.0 community preview can be download from OnePlus website here, and needs to be flashed manually. OnePlus is asking OnePlus X users for feedback on network or any other issues.
- Mobile network stability issues in some regions
- Some 3rd party apps may experience some compatibility issues
- Language localisation
Note that, this preview build is available only for limited period and OnePlus will disable the download link in a few days once they receive enough feedback.
The company's latest flagship the OnePlus 3 ships with Android Marshmallow, while the other two OnePlus phones, OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 has already been updated to Marshmallow. With the release of the preview build we can expect, the final OxygenOS 3.1.0 build for OnePlus X to roll out in the coming weeks.
