Possible Huawei Mate 9 chassis leaked, show dual-rear cameras
Huawei usually launches two flagships a year, the P series and Mate series. The company launched the P series flagship, the P9 earlier this year with dual rear cameras. Now the company is working on the Mate series flagship, which will succeed, the Mate 8.
Multiple photos showing the back shell of the Mate 9 has surfaced online. As seen in the photo, the Mate 9' design is similar to its predecessor like the metal build, however, there are few notable changes.
Unlike the Mate 8, the Mate 9 will have dual-rear camera at the back, similar to the P9 flagship. The rear camera will be accompanied by dual-tone LED flash and laser auto-focus. At the bottom there are no changes, there's the charaging sport ( rumored to be USB Type-C) and speaker placed at either sides.
As for the the specs, according to rumors and benchmark sightings, the Mate 9 will have 5.9-inch 1080p display, HiSilcon 366 chipset, which is expected to be successor of Kirin 955 SoC: Kirin 960 SoC, used in P9, 4GB/6GB RAM options, 64GB storage, 12MP dual-rear camera (P9 had 12MP cameras) and 8MP front camera. It is rumored to run Android's latest version 7.0 Nougat with Emotion UI (EMUI) custom skin.
Currently, the release date of Mate 9 is not known.
