Xiaomi Mi 5s launch expected on September 27


We have been hearing rumors about Xiaomi Mi 5s, a powerful variant of Mi 5 which is expected to feature Snapdragon 821 SoC and 6GB RAM for quite some time now, without knowing the launch date. Now Xiaomi has scheduled an event on September 27 in China, where it is expected to launch the Mi 5s.

The company has posted press invite on weibo, that shows a huge letter "S", which hints the possibility of Mi 5s going official at the event. Rumors claim Xiaomi is also expected to launch an enhanced version of Mi 5s, reportedly called Mi 5 Plus with a 5.7-inch QHD display.

In addition to 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 821 SoC, the Mi 5s is rumored to feature 5.15-inch Full HD curved glass display with pressure sensitive technology, NFC, Android Marshmallow, 3490mAh battery, Infrared sensor and Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI. It is expected to come in three variants of 3GB RAM / 64GB storage, 4GB RAM / 128GB storage and 6GB RAM / 256GB storage. For photography, the Mi 5s is rumored to have 16MP rear camera with four-axis OIS and PDAF.

A recent leak have suggested that the Mi 5s will have world's first "Under Glass" ultrasonic fingerprint sensor technology developed by Qualcomm, that will be placed beneath the glass.

We should know all the official details of the Mi 5s on September 27, until that time, take the rumored specs with a pinch of salt.
